  1. Anyone know what this is?

I've been covertly watching this and I have to admit, the things we all thought it was were much more interesting than what it really is. Love....Jill
  2. A little rant

My folder is called "c*nt". The file names all end with the C word. I have Big C, Ultra C, Stinky C Stupid C etc etc. One day a customer actually was looking over my shoulder while I was working and I prayed the whole time that he wouldn't see that his file name was F*cking C*nt. :Big Laugh
  3. Cutting Master 3

That stinks. I often get the "no active document" error in X5. Sometimes a re-start will work but not always. (I realize this doesn't apply to your problem) I downloaded cutting master 3 and while it did install, it is so completely changed from the 2.83 (or 2.81) that I was using that I...
  4. Finding the copyright owner... Feeling lost

I'd just draw something myself in a similar style. Love....Jill
  5. Help with outdoor sign

We also have paradise, Panic, and Desire. Check your permit allowances, I would do the 5'x10' aluminum composite and aluminum tubing (both available via N Glantz or Pioneer) Love....Jill
  6. Cutting Master 3

See if you still have the old cutting master install setup in your Downloads folder and install that. Love....Jill
  7. Banner

That is worse than your initial attempt. Why must it be a Letterhead font? Why can't it be a Signfonts or Sign DNA font? Try Desire from Chuck Borges, there are a lot of ligatures and things. Your last attempt was a lot better than this one, except for the blue and the small tagline.
  8. Artwork Numbering

Glad you got it sorted.
  9. A little rant

It's ugly for sure...but if he would go for the price I'd quote, I'd make his signs. I just wouldn't tell anybody. Love....Jill
  10. Dry Erase Boards

...that's why I said to wax it. The wax prevents stains. I usually use something like Behold or Pledge (not Endust) Clean the boards about once a year with Fantastik and re-wax.
  11. Dry Erase Boards

I'd try a reputable lumber yard (not big box) You can get masked sheets of white tileboard (abitibi) I apply vinyl graphics and striping tape to those, then wax really well with furniture polish. PS I think Glantz sells the actual dry erase sheets. They are a little thicker. Love....Jill
  12. Font Help Please

I had to make signs that had the same quote (in the same colors but I got to pick the font) for the local middle school. Some coach's quote or something. Font looks like a blend of Walt Disney's handwriting (if he was on crack) and some dafont handwriting thing. Love....Jill
  13. Banner

Is this just a temporary sign until they can get a permanent fascia sign? This last one looks better, but I would make the areas that you have blue be a cream color. The red and blue look clashy together. I'd lose the weird clip art. The tagline could be a bit bigger, perhaps stacked, and I...
  14. Attention Oldies...

Both of your examples show either carelessness or lack of attention to details on the part of the end-user (not yours) Whether you have been at it 10 months or 10 years there is never a reason to not be careful or pay attention to details. Love....Jill
  15. Artwork Numbering

Which program are you using? I think Corel has an option to create sequential numbering, and I'm sure I've seen it referred to on this forum. Sorry for not being much help. Love....Jill
  16. Bookkeeper Sign Layout - Layout Help

It will help the mask stay adhered to the sign so paint doesn't seep. But only do this if you really feel you need to do so. (it could cause all those layers of uncured background paint to pull up) I'm assuming that the mask is sticking about at well as the 751. Heat may also help the 751...
  17. Bookkeeper Sign Layout - Layout Help

Carefully heat the mask with a hair dryer before applying paint. Pull mask off almost immediately.
  18. Bookkeeper Sign Layout - Layout Help

At least it's pretty much sealed. No matter what, you are not going to have good adhesion with the 751 on the latex. Even if you use a paint mask and paint the lettering, it will bleed. It's already been two years, I would start fresh. I wouldn't use a roller for the lettering, I would dab...
  19. Bookkeeper Sign Layout - Layout Help

I do not use latex paints for backgrounds. I use regular lettering or bulletin (oil based) enamel. Paint mask and vinyl do not adhere well to latex paint. I'd sand all that off and start fresh.
  20. In need of some beginner tips

You can use a piece of glass for practice. Print out some lettering on paper and tape it to the back of the glass. Then scrape it off after it dries with a razor blade and start again. I don't pallette my paint. (most people use old magazines for this) I use the edge of my cup (I like the...
