print heads
Figure on
two new print heads
new pump
6 dampers
capping station
1300.00 + 500.00 to end up with a really slow printer. Find a used JV3 that is printing that you can see running. Stay away from the old Mutoh as parts are getting harder to get
Half print
I would change the capping station first. You can test it by pulling on the four ink tubes coming off the bottom of the assembly. If when you pull on the line you get air mixed with the ink the cap is not sealing. If the cap top checks out, look at the dampers on the heads that are...
CMYK x 2
That is the way to go, we have set up printers both ways and you can't tell the difference from two feet. The current six color unit should be able to go back to 4 color, I know it is easy on the Mimaki JV33.
Look at the Mutoh Value jet, for 15k you get a 54" printer with take up and...
Moving rolands
When the versacamm first came out we loaded one on to a hospital gurney and drove it all over the west. We would leave it in the back of a truck overnight without issues. We only had the ink siphon once so then we started pulling the carts.
That move
Do what you are doing but make sure to dump the waste bottle. I have seen printers where we left the cartridges in start to siphon and drain the inks so you may want to pull them
Roland
Yes that is how Roland likes to punish you for the ink choice you make for the printer you own. There must be some kind of law against that type of sabotage
Had a customer enter 'Pump up" in the menu by mistake. Rather then waste ink he wants to get out of that mode. I recall there is a way but it is info only a service guy would know (not in the tech manual).
old joke
What do you call a person who speaks three languages................trilingual
What do you call a person who speaks two languages...................bilingual

PS, cap tops or maybe too much pressure...
Damper and lines
Is there ink in the dampers of the channels that don't fire
did you inspect the ribbon cables for possible flaws on the ends.
is there ink in the line after it hist the Y above the head?
Warranty
You may want to keep that info between Grimco and yourself. A manufacturer has trained dealers to set up equipment for a reason, and they would come down hard on grimco if they knew they were not doing their installs as their contract calls for.
