we use oracal 3651 for a lot of different applications, i would think that would stick. if not all the major brands make hi-tac vinyls (oracal, avery & 3M) any of those would work
thanks for the input.
i just found it funny that for the applications it is recommended for you don't get the full warranty?
made specifically to stick to brick, stucco and concrete. 7 year outdoor durable......but only 6 months on masonry products.
(aren't all of those masonry products?)
i am quoting a job for some large cut vinyl letters that will be installed on a cinder block wall, indoors. the materials i looked at said 7+ year outdoor life so i figure no worries since it's inside but...BUT... some of the fine print says it is only warranteed for 6 months and on some up to...
there is no doubt this happens all the time but you would hope a customer that has done business with you before and knows the quality of your work would give you a chance to match the price.
doing a partial wrap on a van to cover the windows. normally after i go over the windows i cut around the edges and squeegee all around so everything is tucked in. question is what if i don't make those cuts and just leave full vinyl over the window and van sides. will i be asking for failure...
we use oracal(hhmm... sorry ...orafal) 3164 for temp signage and like Pat said let it out gas, 24 hrs is best but i have done it after a couple of hours and it was ok.
i had a new customer needed me to fix and re-hang a sign like this that sandy took down. the original installers only screwed in to the raised areas of the corrugated metal. after i fixed the sign by unbending and screwing the panels back to the 1x1 tube frame i hung angle metal ( L ) brackets...
regardless of the amount of money you made a sale instead of losing one and you where able to help the customer out of a jam so he will use you again. win/win
(although the way you worked it out the profit was pretty good %)
i just add extra for tolls and gas to my normal labor charge. i don't do a mileage charge. our shop is in jersey and sometimes i have to go to NY for jobs and a mileage charge doesn't cover the $20-25 worth of tolls so far i haven't lost any jobs because of that.
i took art courses, graphic art course and commercial art courses. art courses gave you media and you just created your project from what you had and brought it to life from your mind. the graphic commercial arts courses gave you tools and taught you how to bring to life the customers already...
may sound stupid but did you check all the cables. make sure they are connected properly or maybe one has gone bad. check your network hub if you have one. we had that happen once and that was bad.
i have two customers that rent booms and lifts so we usually rent from them. it can cost anywhere from $350-600 for the day depending on where we are going and what kind of lift.
we were just tossing around some thought on if it's worth it for us to get our own lift. probably not right now based...
we don't push the business cards either mainly we print them for existing customers who need 100 or a low qty. if they want a polycarbonate card or something fancy on aluminum then we will do it in house but if they want a traditional card 500,1000 or more then we sub them out to Wes-Tex printing
