  4. UGH. New Problems.

Yes, the heat is definitely on. Aside from the printer feeling hot, I'm not really sure how to tell if it's heating to the correct temp.
  5. Camo fills?

Camowraps out of Louisiana prints a lot of the licensed patterns. They will print on 180cv3 and lam if you call them and special order. I'll never buy that stuff from Fellers because they supply Camowraps with their own cheap material. Go to the source !

I45 Signs. They do great work and use UV inks for their screen print coro... and they are fast! Their min order on 24x18 is 50 pieces.
  7. UGH. New Problems.

Sorry to hijack my own thread... I'm running prints on a friend's SP540i. Does this thing support RIPC? The profiles aren't installed with his Versaworks and his software is up to date.
  8. UGH. New Problems.

I have never adjusted the heat settings. I'll check to make sure it's heating up properly.
  9. UGH. New Problems.

Come to think of it, that's exactly what it looks like. I tried printing on some really crappy static cling material a couple of years ago and my prints looked just like this. Unfortunately, I ran these tests on some short scrap rolls of 180cv3 and ij35c. Same issue on different media.
  10. UGH. New Problems.

Here's my test print. I know the black is not perfect, but it's been like this for a while. It's no worse than it was yesterday.
  11. UGH. New Problems.

Coming off the heels of this thread dealing with my dirty encoder strip problems... I think I just opened a new can of worms. Just my luck. We finished the last bus in fleet of shuttle buses today, so I decided to crack open the VP540 and give it a good cleaning. I cleaned the encoder strip...
  12. One whacked customer!

It's up to you to set the boundaries. It's best to do that early on. If something is more trouble than it's worth, find a way to explain to your customer that it's not cost effective to do it. Producing one-offs for every job is not cost effective or the best use of your time. After one or two...
  13. Anyone take a stab at this one?

Border... the F is very, very close but not quite. Jhill... are you serious? Not even remotely close.
  14. Anyone take a stab at this one?

    anyone recognize this one?
  15. An order fell in my lap - now how do I do it

We don't do them often, but when we do stick 4x8's in the ground this is how we build them. Route a 1" deep channel down the middle of each 4x4 and 2x4. Stick your substrate in there and pop some coated deck screws in to secure it all. These particular signs are built using 1/2' ply. However you...
  16. HELP: VP540 Random Color Dropouts

Just a quick update for anyone who might have similar issues. A thorough cleaning of the encoder strip did clear the problem up for a while. As it turns out, dust and overspray don't play well with electronic components. If you've never taken apart your printer, I suggest you give it a try. All...

Dan, any luck finding someone? We need to produce a sublimated backdrop for a trade show booth.
  19. Door Handle Removal

We remove them every time except cargo vans that are pop riveted on. Pulling the handles and other obstacles allows for no exposed seams or cut lines. Takes a little extra time but its worth it.
