They've actually been doing stuff like this for years: https://community.coreldraw.com/talk/coreldraw_graphics_suite_2017/f/coreldraw-graphics-suite-2017/58389/fix-for-being-accused-of-stealing-coreldraw
I would never do data merge for making signs like house numbers. Lay those out individually. I only use data merge for things like parking permits or tickets which have to be numbered. Centering or left aligned comes out fine, particularly since they tend to be 3 or 4 digit numbers or more.
Page 4 of that guide: Print Label is located under Custom (Sewing/Folding). Print Labels contain information about the print job. The information printed can be customized. Click Enable and then Setup to customize what Print Labels will output.
Anyone who does signs should become familiar with the basic fonts. Swiss 721 is basically a knockoff of Helvetica that comes with Corel Draw. You should become familiar with it and a couple of dozen other common fonts. It will save you a lot of time. Learn to recognize the quirks of those fonts'...
We have used every version of Corel Draw from 11 through 2019, including X8, and have experienced no such issues with eps files. Somewhere, something installed wrong or is set wrong.
I've never done an FDC sign on a diamond blank. They have all been white signs with red letters, and a rectangle just a little larger than the letters. 6" letters on a 9x12 if I remember right. But, yeah, seamed on a 24" sign is a bit odd.
It's a lot easier in Corel Draw because it can all be done within Corel Draw. But in Illustrator you can use Excel and do a data merge. Google sequential numbering in illustrator and you'll find numerous Youtube videos showing how.
I wouldn't use a heat gun. Too much risk of overheating when you try to cover a large area like that. Just a hair dryer would do. We don't usually worry about the minimal amount of silvering we get with our GBC laminator, but we try to keep our work area around 65-70 degrees in the winter.

The window you posted is not from antivirus. It's Windows User Account Control. You should only see that in PosterShop if you are trying to run it as an Administrator, which is not the normal behavior for the PosterShop icon. It normally runs as a non-administrator user. You only need to run as...
That's called silvering, and with time and warmth it will go away. If you don't normally experience it, it's probably because it's cold now. The adhesive of the laminate can't flow because it's too cold.
The procedure for importing the media profile into Onyx is very similar to the video above. But you should have an icon at the top of your production window that says "Media Manager". Open that, and then go to Media Library and then import the profile using the import button.
