That could just as easily be adhesive vinyl with a laminate laid over the top. We do most of the firetruck jobs that we do using that approach, unless the customer is cheap and doesn't want the overlay. I think it helps to keep the metallic polyester films from oxidizing quickly and prevents...
Currently, we always hand over samples to our customers who want wall graphics to test for adhesion first, or we take a sample to the job site and test it ourselves. We run 6" x 4" samples of everything in our shop and even a few things that we outsource.
I think if you're doing printed signs, there's nothing wrong with placing your company info at about 8 to 10 pt. in the bottom corner of the signs you make. Nobody will notice it outside of 5 or 10 feet away anyhow.
Were there any brand markings on the backing paper? I'm just curious what kind of vinyl they manage to cut these from that they can get away with charging $1000. I'm thinking of upping my shop rate to $500 an hour after this. Hahaha!
