Max impact makes all your colors pop more and much brighter. the only thing we ever print on pre press is photos.

The problem tomence, is that when you are having problems with one color ont he XC, it's a $1200 fix... (usually one head at a time needs replacing...maybe two). When you have problem with one color in the XR, you have to replace the whole dx6 head which is $3500 even if everything except one...

Have you considered the replacement cost of heads on the XR vs XC? THe DX6 heads are in the $3500 range, the DX4 heads are in the $950 range. That's a big reason we're considering the XC540. Aside from the obvious SIZE 64" vs 54" what are some more options that lead you to the Pro4? We're...

Just curious if anyone here ordered or is currently using the new Roland Pro4? If so, what made you opt for that over the XC540....and was the XC540 even an option for you when you made your decision? Curious to know what people are thinking.

We run everything 0-0-0-100 and let versaworks handle it (print as MAX IMPACT) and it's solid everytime. We don't use anything but.

Are you printing from PDF??? If so, open in illustrator and try saving as EPS. We had some artwork the other day printing straight Forest GREEN that was supposed to be grey...it was a PDF file that we resaved as EPS and it printed perfect grey just from resaving as another file type.

WOW...your black head is deflecting pretty bad...but those look much better. I'd try printng a bunch on it and see if the test print clears the black head up at all in a few days...if it doesn't it might be getting close to needing replacing.

...a sawtrax sure would be nice. But we're operating out of a tiny shop with low overhead...not a whole lot of budget or ROOM for another piece of equipment. :(

We decided to go this route like we were before... I was just trying to save time since there's 30x 6"x24" that are fully covered in orange on this order. I figured if we lay it ONCE on each side of a 4'x8' sheet, then cut it into 30 pieces, we'd be fine - and that's easy money. But I'm not...

XC-540 with CMYK + Light C + Light M....you don't have the have metallic.

You may want to do a couple "medium" cleans too....do NOT use power clean. Head soak might be your only chance at saving that one though...

Buy a used XC540 for the same price...you can thank me later.

Hey guys, wondering if here normally anyone does this... planning to install die-cut vinyl to both faces of a 4'x8' sheet of di-bond. THEN, cut the di-bond into 18"x24" Pieces... The idea is to install ONE piece of vinyl on each side of a big sheet, and end up with 10 signs after it's cut...
