For masking our flatbed we use the plastic liner from Avery 6460 lam.
It sucks down great and costs nothing.
If there's only a couple of items you can lay a full cover, print the panel template then cut just inside the shape with a knife. Peel out the centre and there's your jig.
If we can we wait the recommended time before laminating. Rush jobs for flat surfaces sometimes straight off the printer.
Wrap prints, overnight or they are too stretchy and the adhesive too aggressive.
If you're sure of the sizes trim top and one side to size with bleed only on the other edges.
Then you can slide it into place knowing it will be square and just trim the 2 edges.
We only have major headstirke issues on certain (usually cheap) vinyls.
The liner seems to be especially sensitive to temperature change and will curl the edge as soon as it hits the cure zone.
We have 2 HP 360s and recently bought an Epson 60600.
If you're used to eco solvent then you'll love the Epson.
It's fast, good quality and the inks dry quickly.
The colour repeatability and accurate panel length makes it our go-to for wall and vehicle wraps.
