  2. How should you clean area before placing decals?

I make my dog lick it. Other times I use Rapid Prep http://www.rapidtac.com/rapid-prep.html then 91% alcohol. I do not use anything like turps or thinners as I did once (on my own vehicle thankfully) and later on down the road when I removed the graphic it also pulled up the clear...
  3. Logo help please

Quick font suggestion...Motter Femina and the dreaded Hobo.
  4. Help with a design

    Thanks...I was just goofing around.
  5. Help with a design

Too many fonts, and it looks like you're using more than one script in the same layout. I also don't care for the script capitals in the laundry list part. It's such a complicated graphic that I think the rest of the message should be real simple looking. Some of the fonts look smashed too...
  6. Logo help please

....I was gonna supply an idea but Neato nailed it.
  7. Thoughts on this one...

Too many clashing decorative fonts. Keep the Old English style one they insist on, unless you can change it to LHF Stratford. Then make all the other copy different weights of LHF Stevens Percepta. That will keep it classy and dignified. ...and don't squish "associates". Love....Jill
  8. Logo help please

I like the icon but not the fonts. Surely you have some nicer ones somewhere. Is it retro 70s? Love....Jill

  10. Another new sign

Turned out swell. Is the daughter made out of epoxy or was she hand carved? I'm glad you put her in there to better demonstrate the size of this piece. Nice. Love....Jill
  11. Face-palm / No taste

Yup, even though it felt good and justified to send him the sketch, he probably still likes the one with the bird. Would have been better to leave things alone. I would not reply to the last email, I'd let it go. I am such a snob and a real b!tch about signs. I can't help it. I have seen the...
  12. Face-palm / No taste

The font he chose is one I hate. I hate it more than Brush Script, Comic Sans, and Curlz combined. He probably won't appreciate your nice example because he has a stiffy for the nasty thing he chose. Love....Jill
  13. UPS leaves delivery notice on our door while we are open!

Twice this week FedEx has put my neighbor's packages on my porch. I could see doing this if it was winter (they have a long steep driveway) but it's almost summer! So my teenager gets to walk up the long steep driveway. Love....Jill
  14. this week

I used to go to the bar here and there for about a month with a sign guy who liked Magic Hat. Looks good, Dave.

  16. Distressed effect in Corel?

...I think my brain just imploded. :omg:
  17. Tinting Size

When I do tint, which is really rare, I use just a few drops of imitation gold or chrome yellow added to the size. Use lettering enamel. Love....Jill
  18. Distressed effect in Corel?

I got a pic of barnwood. Did the first step. Then did the line art trace. I took the inner image of the cake and combined it, leaving the outline as-was. Overlaid the wood grain onto the cake, used the trim function. Then I broke apart the inner cake and colored it as I needed to, then...
  19. font id please

Gah! Main lettering looks to be hand-cut from the Revue font, that someone was looking at through smeared eyeglasses while on crack. Love....Jill
  20. "One of those" Customers.

:thumb: You sound like one of the "good" newbies, not a hack. That's refreshing.
