  1. Fit text to path in Corel X5

This is what happens after the mirroring thing, which I already tried. Not a huge fan of X5. It can take all of the joy out of a simple task. :thankyou:
  2. 3 Fonts to ID please.

For your consideration. From a scanned bizcard. I'd prefer to know the actual fonts rather than autotrace, but I may have to. Thanks for looking. Love....Jill
  3. Fit text to path in Corel X5

It was so easy in Corel 12. I'm trying to fit text to path, on the bottom of the circle. (SERVICES) Used to be you just had to click the letter A up top to change text direction. Now if you click the A you get a whole menu of options, none of which lets you change text direction. I can...
  4. Family issues

It would p!ss me off too. But I would just keep keeping on. He will eventually move on to something else, and sell his stuff, hopefully not to someone too close. Some "customers" don't care about design or quality, they just want cheap. These two types of people create their own little sign...
  5. More painted signs.

On the Piston Broke part there's actually a shadow at the top of the R in garage as well. I was just fiddling around trying to add some depth. Sightline...variegated is the only gold leaf that I do OK with.
  6. Louis' Family Restaurant Sign (before/after)

I'd keep the original frames too. So many times I end up giving in to a customer who just refuses to listen to good advice. I take their money (usually I charge a little extra to soothe my ego) and I never put the sign in my portfolio. Lately I've had a few jobs where I was thrilled to...
  7. Sample Video

They are just blanks from JoAnn fabrics. The periods were "plan aheads" Sorry the video did not load, I knew I would somehow jack that up.
  8. More painted signs.

Still extremely busy. Here's a few more painted signs, and more on the horizon. Also a book cover. (both an e-book and a paperback) Paw Prints was not my design. I'm waiting for some pictures of a few signs after installation. Love....Jill
  9. Sample Video

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=379761898792495&set=vb.240795182619229 &type=2&theater A little vid of me painting a very small sign. I've been making a lot of these for an upcoming wedding. If I didn't upload the video correctly (which is highly likely) it's also available on...
  10. Louis' Family Restaurant Sign (before/after)

Totally agree about the hours sign. Maybe on the door of the place.
  11. Beaver, Bear and a Deere

    Such fun signs. Love....Jill
  12. Will vinyl stick to signacade?

I just use panels. I don't like to play with fire, and the nice thing about panels is that you can upsell them to a second lettering option on the reverse. Love....Jill
  13. Louis' Family Restaurant Sign (before/after)

Your spacing needs some help. ouis needs to be tighter to the L and better nested onto the L's leg. Too much spacing between FAMILY and RESTAURANT and you don't need dots on either side. I'd do a stepped in border rather than a flush one (leave a white edge) and also on your hours sign the...
  14. i need some help with a logo

Did you mean way old time like turn of the century? What I submitted was 1970s looking.
  15. Les Paul Tribute Mural

Turned out great. I love the layout and colors. Can't wait until next month. Love....Jill
  16. Translucent vinyl or regular vinyl

Probably. Most backlit signs feature translucent vinyl. Unless you want it to look like crap. :Big Laugh
  17. A simple hand-lettered repacement panel(s) from this past week

You really freshened things up. Nice work. Love....Jill
  18. i need some help with a logo

I'd try something using the alphabets of Arthur Vanson (available on Letterhead Fonts) since he grew up as a signwriter in the UK in the 1960s. He based a lot of his layouts on those of Cecil Wade. http://www.letraset.com/shopcontent.asp?type=profileCecilWade Here's a quick suggestion. You...
  19. Does anyone know this one? Reading

FHA Round Block by The Fontry might work.
  20. Wonderful PA

I've been to every state but Alaska and Hawaii and I have to say that I am partial to PA. Most of the people are willing to go out of their way to be kind to a stranger. Love....Jill
