  1. Printing Neon colors

Sounds to me like this is the case. I.E. load flourescent into a white ink cartridge and trick the RIP by telling it to spot print what it thinks is white but is actually ink of your choice....no different than printing white on any RIP/printer just with a custom color loaded into the bag.
  2. Question CJV30 CMYK only?

This may be off base....by my HP FB550 and ONYX give you the choice to run it CMYK or CMYKLcLm via a media/profile selection. I've used Rasterlink but it was a few years back...do they offer an option to run just CMYK without fully converting the machine over like VanderJ suggested? You might...
  3. Reverse print on back of clear acrylic help

I've had great results using oracal 3651 clear, reverse printed (HP latex and/or Mimaki solvent), laminated with white oracal cast (751 i think is the number for it, it has clear adhesive on white substrate). Then apply to back side of CLEAR acrylic, not the P95 acrylic that's matte on one side...
  4. City wants STRAPS sewn through banner

Completely agreed...it's like getting free answers for a pop quiz in high school...they've supplied the specs all you have to do is follow them. I've ran into the same issue with over-the-street banners and I have a Miller banner welder but I still outsource the hemming/webbing/etc just to be...

  6. New Laminator - Need Advice

2CT Media has nailed it on the head! I've been in the sign industry over 10 years, running various laminators through the years. The GFP line is the best for the money IMO...I just went to ISA in Orlando this year and saw the Kala, AGL, GFP, Royal Sovereign, among others. The GFP has all the...
  7. Horizontal Copies and WinPlot

Yup I was sure I wasn't sounding like I knew what I was talking about (I do I promise lol)....really a flatbed plotter is ideal for cutting large runs of magnets, but that's out of budget and on the wish list for the future, for now I'm working with what I've got, and this seems to do the...
  8. Horizontal Copies and WinPlot

Gotcha, thanks again! So although I haven't had a chance to test selecting "no feed" in the output tab, I do have some info to report back to any who are interested....I've found that I can cut larger runs within a single set of registration marks if I manage the extra weight of the magnet as...
  9. Horizontal Copies and WinPlot

I'm not familiar with the XY adjust option but I'll look into it and see if it helps. I'll do some testing next week and report back with results. Thanks to all replied and I welcome any other suggestions. Have a good weekend folks!
  10. Horizontal Copies and WinPlot

Thanks I'll see what that does for me.
  11. Horizontal Copies and WinPlot

Hello to all the fellow signmakers out there! I have a question regarding my Summa, Winplot, and horizontal copies....I'm wondering how to get the Summa/WinPlot to look horizontally for the next copy instead of just vertically. So for example when I'm cutting small magnets with somewhat complex...
  12. Question What causes this? I think I know the answer but....

You could also ask the customer to supply the tif/jpg already flattened...or like mbasch said open the PDF directly in photoshop, which occasionally will still show the lines in which case you could clone stamp the line out VERY quickly, not ideal but solves the problem without troubling your...
  13. CNC vendor offering polymetal cuts?

Thanks everyone, I'll reach out to both companies and let you know my results. At first glance both companies appear good, but since Hart Supply is closer to me I might end using them to keep logistics/shipping costs under control. THANKS!!
  14. CNC vendor offering polymetal cuts?

Hello all :-) Just wondering if someone knows of a good company offering custom polymetal cuts. It's pretty simple/basic stuff I'm looking for...just someone to cut 3mm or 6mm polymetal, 3mm/6mm PVC, and the occasional acrylic cuts. Typically I'm just applying vinyl prints to the contour cuts...
  15. Fb950 Image Sensor Can't Find User Edge...

I did solve it.... In my case it was a bad data cable. I replaced the data cable and it solved the problem as well as a bunch of other little problems that I couldn't figure out. The data cable that HP uses is very poor I highly recommend upgrading it with an aftermarket cable. The only...

WSDisplay.com, I use them regularly and don't have a single complaint!
  17. Fb950 Image Sensor Can't Find User Edge...

Hello all! Wondering if anybody has ever had issues with the image/media sensor not being able to find the user edge of the sheet when measuring? I've cleaned out and around the area where the sensors are located. I did find some dust and cleaned it out but nothing significant. The printer...
  18. Hp L28500 Error 58:10

Thanks Ragnabrok....it's the older version (L28500) of the printer and it doesn't automatically build profiles for you like the newer models (360, 370, 560, 570, etc). So I'm not sure what the spectrometer is used for other than automatically aligning the heads. Do you know if it does any...
  19. Autocarve 3d - Anybody Using?

Thanks Printhog, I've been thinking EnRoute was going to be the way to go. Didn't know about the subscription option, that sounds enticing if they don't force you into a long term contract. I'll certainly look into it, thanks for your insight.
  20. Autocarve 3d - Anybody Using?

Wondering if anyone is using AutoCarve 3d option for Artpath? We have a Sabre 408 and love it, had it 16 years and very little maintenance. Anyway we are looking into true 3d carving options and by the sounds of it Artpath can do this with the purchase of the Autocarve 3d option. My...
