  3. Applying laminated vinyl to ACM question

What is the reason for cutting the print 1/8" from the edge? We apply prints with a 1/8" or 1/4" bleed and then just trim the bleed off, so the finished vinyl is exactly the same size as the substrate.
  4. How can we get started with making channel signs?

Direct Sign Wholesale is another big channel letter vendor you could try.
  5. Van wrap lines

    Always body lines
  6. World Cup Logo

Good luck with your counterfeiting business, bro. You might want to stick to making Mona Lisa t-shirts, since Da Vinci lost his copyright protection some time ago.
  7. Question Another font question...

$50 per style is pretty common for a good quality typeface. The amount of craftsmanship and time that goes into designing a typeface is immense. Typefaces that consist of several different weights plus italics can take years to develop. You might want to consider the Monotype Library...
  8. Need a font I.D. please

Lydian http://www.myfonts.com/search/lydian/ The Bitstream and Monotype releases are free if you have a Monotype subscription.
  9. Anyone use Ultraflex Ultravision? Suggestion on 36-39in Window Perf?

We've been using Ultraflex perf for several years here with no issues that I can recall. It's 60/40 and calendered, so good for buildings but not vehicles. Grimco Canada stocks it in 39", but we use 54" here.

  12. Question ICC profile service question for Signs 101 users

That doesn't really answer my question. If I understand correctly, the i1 shines a light on the sample you're measuring, and it measures the light that reflects back. So if the light on the i1 includes the non-visible UV part of the spectrum, it would measure a different colour on a fluorescent...
  13. Question ICC profile service question for Signs 101 users

While we have the attention of all the colour experts here, I have a few questions I'm curious about: 1. If we purchase an i1, can we use it with Versaworks, or would we need to switch to Onyx or Caldera? 2. Which i1 bundle has what we need to create profiles, linearize profiles and will allow...
  14. Cut vinyl prices peeling after 1 month

For what it's worth, we've never had prints turn yellow in the sun, but we do laminate almost everything we print. These are the standard Avery materials we use, that have given us consistently top-notch results: 2900 series high-performance calendered with 2000 series laminate for short/medium...
  15. Interior Wall Mural material

I highly recommend Avery 2611 for an easy dry installation. I got stuck with the job of installing a 30'x9' mural with 2611 years ago, completely on my own with zero training. I literally just watched a YouTube video and then went at it, and it went flawlessly. The only prior experience I had...
  16. Cut vinyl prices peeling after 1 month

Avery's been our primary brand for print media and cut vinyl for over 10 years and we're happy with them. We have enough firsthand experience with Avery that we can confidently tell a client that their sign is likely to last at least as long as the manufacturer rating. I am aware that Avery has...
  17. Monument font

Those are pirate sites. OP, the closest I can find on MyFonts are the bolder weights of these two. Albertus Nova is just a newer version of Albertus, and Adelon is a renamed Albertus released by another company that presumably didn't own the rights to use the name...
  18. Monument font

Close, but it's not a match. Many of the terminals are slightly different on the monument (leg of the R has curved bottom, not straight, flares are missing on some other letters).
  19. Suggestions Small to VERY Large :)

I just tested your method out of curiosity, on a low-res stock photo. I compared the following two methods: Enlarge by 105% on the Bicubic Smoother (Enlargement) setting numerous times until the image is approximately 10x the original size. Enlarge by 10x (1000%) the original size in one step...
  20. Suggestions Small to VERY Large :)

Your image is 2598 x 1772 pixels and you're printing it 6m x 4m (236"x157"). That means if you print the image as-is, you're printing at 11 pixels per inch (ppi). Here are the standard viewing distance formulas we use: resolution (ppi) = 180 / viewing distance (metres) resolution (ppi) = 600 /...
