  1. Magnets on aluminum vehicles

Phototex. It works well outdoors for things like this. About the same life as magnets.
  2. Arlon + HP = Bad News Coming Soon?

We run a lot of Arlon DPF8000 here for one customer, that is spec'd by them so we're "stuck" with it. As anyone who has ran this material will attest to - the edges leave some very tacky residue on your printer, floor, hands, tables, etc... So, with the limited "reach" within this printer I am...
  3. Newbie to site, 30 yrs in biz, with plotter issue and printer envy.

Call Summa support; I think your plotter is just confused and you're speaking the wrong language to it. Ours did that exact same thing recently and a tech walked the other guy here on how to fix it in a couple minutes.
  4. How was this Decal Produced?

You could make these with a Gerber Edge, however I have no idea how they got the metallic flake in there that way. I would bet our Epson here could make them also if we had chrome vinyl and patience testing it out, as it has the metallic ink option. I would suggest a solvent printer with spot...
  5. Acid wash for trailers?

I have used Ghost Off (Fellers or Advantage sells it) with good success; put a bit more in the solution than recommended, scrub it well, then wash it off.
  6. snowy log cabin look

I could do it, but I'm currently way over-booked already... I know one other guy that could do what you need, I'll PM ya.
  7. font help

    not a font
  8. Yellow & Magenta mix

See above; the problem is somewhere between the cap tops and the drain bottle.
  9. 3M #3635-110 Chrome Graphic Film

CheetahWraps should sell it to ya by the yard.
  10. T-60 plotter not cutting.

I wouldn't buy a thermal printer as my only printer. And, you still have to laminate thermal prints. Call your local suppliers and see what types of equipment they carry and when they have equipment demo's coming up. If I was buying my own equipment I would buy an Epson printer, Mimaki or Summa...
  11. T-60 plotter not cutting.

Our Summa did that a while ago, I think that the language setting got changed in either the plotter; Composer, or device driver is what it boiled down to. (HGPL/GPL/whatever setting somewhere) I can't remember where the tech made the change anymore...
  12. Not seen a decal do this before...any thoughts?

Sounds like the calendared has shrunk a bit since the install; and the surface wasn't prepped properly before painting and it has pulled the paint up with the decal off of the door surface.
  13. Weird head behavior - JV3-250SP

wow, never would have guessed that. thanks for the follow-up post.
  14. snowy log cabin look

If you're not up to the task of PSing this, I would highly recommend subcontracting out the design to someone who is. I've only done one wrap approaching that level of change, and it was a big PITA; full wrap interior and exterior of an ambulance.
  15. Vinyl Slitter Machine Supplier?

We have a lot of vinyl/mask/lam slit currently at one of our vendors and it causes a great inconvenience with all the trips there & back. We are interested in adding a vinyl slitter here at our shop; does anyone have experience with one or have a vendor that sells them here in the US?
  16. IJ680CR icc profile

I don't use any special profile here for 680, we set up one for 180c and try to use it on everything we print on if possible. that way if we have a reprint we don't have to worry about which profile we used.
  17. snowy log cabin look

You're probably going to have to PhotoShop this up yourself. You're going to have to go take some of your own photos of logs/boards for the wood, and then construct your own cabin, and then add some faux snow effect. It'll be a LOT of work. I would estimate 15+ hours of PS work and a few hours...
  18. Ornaments

There are a lot of fonts out there that are flourishes like these. http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=710
  19. How to find shop help

Good luck! Seriously, we recently have been looking for another employee here and only about 2% of the resumes we have received passed us "pre-screening" them and doing background checks. I would suggest posting on Craigslist and also posting on linkedin, but otherwise; I'm not sure.
  20. Want to print on comply on the Edge

Fellers sells us 180c 15" punched. You can use an edge foil like GoldMedal to get a gold chrome look.
