  1. Recommendations for best lam for use with Big Squeegee

BigFish..what standard sized does that lam come in? Can you slit it down if someone needed it - say for a 48" machine? :-)
  2. Wholesale printing

FWIW - Mike at Insignia is a stand up guy and very good at what he does. At the same time Merritt is great and does excellent work too, but being that you're in Cincy I would consider Insignia since they're a reasonable drive. You never know when you'll ruin a print and need a rush re-print...
  3. Wholesale printing

Another vote for Mike at Insignia - for emergencies you could drive up and there and pick up directly. (Something to think about...)
  4. strange happenings with a VJ1204

That may or may not be the case. Many times when you get cross contamination it is due to a poor seal around the head and capping station. Check to make sure your drain lines are not plugged/blocked and that everything is squeeky clean around the head and capping station. This can also happen...
  5. I need a cold laminator

IMHO this is the best bang for the buck... http://www.bestdgi.com/products-online.php?cat=78ladkealdieiladkili090809kjuhgt64fcdderfccgg038dFLEIDLLALJilda&product=001-laminators/001-coldultra&ustmodel=USTECH%20AK%20Series%20-%20COLD&region=US
  6. Can I get mutoh 1204 to print 48"

Hmm, never thought about that - but doesn't the machine have a "physical" limitation on how big it prints? So if I change my setting from a 1204 to a 1304 in Wasatch I can't print 49" on 50" media, right?
  7. Can I get mutoh 1204 to print 48"

As I understand it, the printers own firmware limits how wide the printing swipe is. I've read that you can adjust your margin out a little to help this. Also, I believe there is a way to hack the firmware to get another inch +/- but you'll have to search back through some of the old files for...
  8. Mutoh VJ Damper

    This is pretty similar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cySWf9E6V4
  9. Here we go again.. The true test for the LX850 year 2 .

Lol, man what a job. When you have to start figuring in how many heads you have to replace during the run length - that's a BIG job!!! Good luck to you guys.
  10. Wasatch SoftRip 6.5 Crop Marks

Air getting into your line is due to either a leak somewhere in the ink train from a leak in the line or a fitting somewhere or a poor seal at the head/capping station. Double check to make sure you have everything spotlessly clean around the head and capping station. Also, capping stations...
  11. Paint Brushes?

Lots of good info here. Many thanks to the lettering veterans for posting this.
  12. Wasatch SoftRip 6.5 Crop Marks

Under the layout tab, look on the left side under "unit options". Is "crop marks" checked?
  13. Daige 38" solo

As others have said, steer clear of the Daige. FWIW - I bought a US Tech laminator last year and have been very pleased with the cost/performance of this machine. They do make a 30" machine, though it isn't really that much cheaper than a large one. http://www.bestdgi.com/html/mj-300.html...
  14. need to outsource corplast screenprint signs

I've been very pleased with Firesprint - they should have an ad running up near the top of this page. Excellent prices and quality is outstanding.
  15. DX5 head source fo JV33 etc

Sickening - especially when you consider those poor folks that have paid $1500-$2000 for one of these "genuine" solvent heads. Ridiculous...
  16. Sihl 3686

Not running Flexi, but in Wasatch I have; Quality 4 720 x 720 passes: 8 bi-direction Wave 2 All heaters set at 35 (95 degrees) from the rip... Mutoh 1204
  17. DX5 head source fo JV33 etc

  18. VJ 1204 troubleshooting

Have you honestly tried to figure out why you have so many dropped nozzles and fix it? Almost every issue I've every had with dropped nozzles has been directly associated with cleanliness and condition of the capping station seal and/or drain lines. Also, head strikes can case them, and 3rd...
  19. Recommend some good 18oz banner material

I only use Bantex as well - FWIW I tried the Grimco brand stuff 15-16oz and it's just plain garbage. Contact BigFish (merchant member here) he usually has a lot of options on banner materials.
  20. Dang you IJ35C!

Hmm, after using 3651 with 210 almost religiously for the past 3 years on most of my intermediate stuff I was just contemplating trying out the IJ35 because it's about $25/roll cheaper than the 3651. Maybe now I won't... *Sorry for your troubles, hopefully someone else can chime in with some...
