It sucks...I have a really good friend of mine using Oracal Calendared RA for vehicle graphics. I just want to smack him upside the head for doing it. He's used my laminator a few times cause his broke down. "Friends don't let friends wrap with Calendared"
Im not sure exactly who mfr's it or carries it....I have a sample of something on my wall that is supposedly PVC free and die-cutable fabric. Similar to low tac vinyl....repositionable...etc.
I love the IJ 35 as do a lot of my clients! Have yet to try the new 3m. But I will give it a shot of course. As for the 164ft roll...it makes leadering and matching to lam a bit easier. Takes up to 6 ft to leader one of our bigger printers.
Backlit printing
There actually is another way if you have a white ink capability built into your printer. We have the option of a Day-Night backlit on clear or white translucent material. Basically what we are able to do is either an In Line FLOOD Coat of white ink or SPOT WHITE Ink between...
Had some fun with this one over the summer. I love to fish...took some clients out on the weekends....have a freezer full of fresh fish for the winter!
For all signs 101 Members & current clients...Happy Holidays Whole-Sale

Somewhat easy way to deal with the pricing structure: Those of you with school age children...HS...College...even Teachers. Purchase the Student editions and register them personally. They are fully legal copies of the software and cost less.
Hey John....personally I would not want anyone to have say over anything I can or cannot do as a company that would allow me to grow or expand. I believe you are better off with the relationship you have currently. IF it is beneficial to you for the actual store-front space.....just subdivide...
My experience is the transparency should work decently when exported or printed as Postscript. If you're exporting all to bitmap/pixel based output, it will work for sure. May need to tweak for final output.. My negative experience has been outputing transparency on top of PMS or Spot...
Gotta love it....
E-Retailer selling at wholesale pricing to general public....how do smaller shops who outsource their work expect to compete against that? We here have 2 things going for us....the quality of our work and our reputation.
we have one of the RSH Models...good machine. we use it and use it a lot. works well. Keeping it running properly can be a pain at times...but its been a workhorse.
I noticed it quite a bit at times....you can make advanced adjustments in Versaworks for the XC 540. Try using the color sliders first to remove yellow then cyan first. If that doesnt work, go to the advanced area where you can mess with the color Curves of the profiles. Try adjusting them...
Matte liquid lam...
We use liquid from Clearstar in S. Carolina. Good stuff....ask for a dead flat from them. We use it quite often when even matte vinyl with solvent ink isnt matte enough for Photo shoots or red carpet events.
I agree with Jason...the arlon 2 mil is good...a bit yellow for my taste though. the Rayzor is THIN...as I have been told by a couple people. They noticed a difference installing it vs 3m, arlon or oracal cast products. 3m High Gloss is much glossier than both arlon and rayzor....some clients...
