I was on campus last night for open lab. Another instructor stopped by to borrow some equipment and told me spring break is extended for another week. I said; Whaaaaat?! Email went out at 5:26 pm. Supposed to be meetings next week on alternate curriculum delivery.
Going to Door County to work on boats next week. Couple peeks of sun, some warmer weather and folks want to be on the water.
Had six on the list, finished one now I have seven to do. With math like that I'll never finish them all.
Check the tab on the side of the cartridge. Could be sticking out just enough to trigger empty warning. Could also be the sensor that reads the chip on the cartridge. Had that with my Roland. Fix was purely by chance and consisted of forgetting to reinstall a small guide piece on top of the...
I've only used Summa and have been very happy with accuracy/tracking. So nice to be able to load, get it running then walk away. Only had a couple issues with contour cuts and that was my own fault.
But I haven't used anything else so can't compare against a Graphtec for example.
We have 99% isopropyl wipes in the lab. Goes something like this: Bring container as close as possible to what you need to clean. Pull wipe from container and aah crap its dry, grab another and move fast ahhh crap. End up grabbing the squirt bottle and KimWipes.
It happens. Mechanics will work on your car two or three times to figure something out and you get charged every time.
Pay the bill and find someone smarter. I do. Realized a long time ago that there are lots of people willing to work harder for my money.;)
Portfolio works to be separated according to genre/style. Show your best work and not too many pieces per page. Visual clutter is the enemy. You also want viewers to be able to see what you're about without having to dig through your site. It's a sure way to make them lose interest and quit...
If you want to cure your Roland cutting issues once and for all buy a standalone cutter like Summa. That's what I did. Ended up selling the printer but I still have the Summa.;)
If you're in the Adobe ecosystem use Portfolio. Takes a few minutes to get used to the interface but it's fairly intuitive. Simple and slick. No coding, no trying to fix janky code, no worries regarding responsiveness. It just flat works.
If you want to showcase your prowess with coding...
I've used Oracal with RapidAir years ago with no issues, but I wasn't using premask. With any air release if you squeegee really hard it collapses the air channels.
I was merely questioning what if any issues would be caused within the supply chain. No scare tactics involved whatsoever.
Then I figured why not lay in some stock just in case.
What I learned:
Instead of typing in bold with exclamations points and disagreeing with posts you could have...
I'd be curious if you find something that works. I made some vinyl decals for an inflatable wing that you can surf behind. Looks to be the same type of material. Super slippery material whatever it is. Told the client vinyl will stick as long as there's no movement. It went to a trade show...
