Years back I did a bunch of prints for EA games pre-release test. Had to call for an unlock code on each file. Then they wanted access to make sure every file was deleted after printing. No access to shop unless prints were hidden etc... Game never made it to production. Probably too...
Yup. Got out of that mess a couple decades ago. Dirt racers will spend 5 grand on a claimer motor, 4 grand on shocks, thousands more on the "latest" chassis then whine about 500 bucks to letter their car.
Picking a printer is based on what you produce and how it gets produced, which is different for every shop. Case in point. I looked at all the printers and I mean all of them. Wired my office for a latex and was ready to buy one. I ended up getting another solvent printer. Why? Deal...
Something simple if OP is using Flexi RIP. Make sure the correct profile is loaded for the material being used. if that is still too much ink the droplet size can be changed. Large droplet = more ink, medium = less ink, small = least ink. Not in front of the system right now so can't give...
Fill test is a good idea but sometimes not telling. Not long ago another member was having issues so a fill test was suggested. Fill test was flawless. When printing the magenta channel still caused issues. Magenta will cause wide swings in color. Can't remember what was done to correct it.
If permanent 1/8" x 1 flat bar top and bottom. Through bolts with fender washers on panel side painted to match. Gotta make sure you are meeting the minimum wind load spec for your area too. Don't want to get a call after a storm saying your signs went "air freight".
In my experience "free" fonts are more trouble than they're worth. Beginning of every semester I warn students about using "cool" fonts from the web but some insist and do it anyway. More often than I care to count I see students in a cold sweat wondering why their project won't package or...
Probably a profile issue. Every printer even from the same manufacturer will have different characteristics. A correct profile will run the printers within a defined set of device independent parameters.
Nah, rivets are okay just can't use the wimpy ones. Did a dump trailer with ACM panels. Client said it's going to get hammered. Welded structure between the vertical ribs then attached panels with Lexel and 3/16" diameter x 5/8" head stock car panel rivets.
Heard on the morning news South Korea is reporting lots of cases of coronavirus. I'm wondering how that will affect sign makers. JetFlex banner and PhotoTex come from South Korea. Not sure what else.
Products from China is anybodies guess. Was thinking about getting some material while it's...
Back on track with font stuff. My choices are not in the workaday category, but what I personally like. LHF Stanford script and A&S Speedway are two faves. Not eminently useful but they add movement and presence. I've used both to render hailing port names. LHF Desire works well for yacht...
