I've been really impressed with the GFP models, but haven't seen that particular one yet. I second the trip to Vegas if you're wanting to contrast and compare.
Clear what? 220? Static Cling? Quantum? Which White? Are you matching the settings for the vinyl and the foil? I would double check your settings in the file.
Just know that if you've neglected to shake your cartridge regularly (Roland recommends daily) then the ink will have settled in the cartridge and regular cleanings will have filled the ink lines with pigment-less (or at least less pigment than is expected) ink. After getting the pigments back...
This is often a go to when you don't know what's wrong, but when trouble shooting unknowns, you have to eliminate as many variables as you can. Manufacturers specify environmental conditions for a reason - static is one of those reasons.
Actually static electricity will react differently to...
Make sure that you're using the right cable. There are about 3 different "standard" wiring patterns for a serial cable. If one came with the plotter, you'll need to use that one. If not, see if you can get one through your Mutoh dealer.
If the printer doesn't work, raise it till the compression stops. If it does work, it doesn't matter. Just raise it till it touches, them turn on the printer and let it reset itself by doing a cleaning as it powers up.

I agree with Lex Signs. Start by getting a hygrometer/thermometer ($20 max) and see what your humidity level is. If it's below 40% RH, boost it. Slow down your print speed so that static is generated more slowly.
Also, follow what GaSouthpaw says - calibrate for every media. You'll get...
Depending on how many there are, if they appear to be the same, provide a high quote, using whatever criteria you choose and let them know you can give a better estimate after you do a couple of trucks.
I would start by checking the condition settings and making sure that the tool matches the blade you're using. Then check the blade, make sure it's sharp and swivels freely, but doesn't wobble. - you may need a new blade or blade holder. Look at the cutting strip and make sure there isn't a...
Usually if it comes out of the Edge looking good, you won't have a failure down the road because of improper settings. If the settings are wrong, you'll usually see it right off the bat.
If you create a desktop shortcut, you Vann go into the properties (rt. Click)>advanced and set out to always run add administrator (when using that shortcut)
