  1. New 4x8 sign

...if using tileboard outdoors (never a good idea) you have to paint the very porous back or you will have a soggy sponge with a hard front after the first good rain.
  2. Does this work?

I'm not a huge fan of a literal layout. I am also not a fan of the angles in your first version nor the slants. Here is the first thing that came to mind (on top, I know it's kind of sucky but years ago I saw a retro sign for a "Corner Cafe" and always liked it) The bottom is with a nice...
  3. New 4x8 sign

Get two sheets of aluminum composite (Alumalite, alupanel, Dibond, etc etc) They come in black. No use fussing with MDO and coroplast is just for temporary signs. http://www.nglantz.com/locations_contact_info.html
  4. Critique if you must

Bottom left all the way! The only other thing I could think of (believe me, I think of weird things like this right before I fall asleep) is if you used the script font for the name and a simple font for the bikes & burgers.
  5. Thank you Cricket Plotter forums!

Maybe that is why I keep getting mysterious anonymous requests for coro? My niece got a CriCut for Christmas. Love....Jill
  6. How cold is it where you live?

4° this morning. Not nearly as cold as the winter of '77 tho. Love....Jill

  9. New: Before & After

I like it better the second way. :) Particularly like your treatment of LLC, forgot to say that. Not in love with the chopped out E but that's just me.
  10. Critique if you must

I prefer the black and white...could you do something with the R's front leg so it doesn't flow into the K? And is there a non swash "s" for the burgers and bikes part? It is what it is, still a hellavalot prettier than Bleeding Cowboys. I'm a fan of Jason's as well as Stevo's, who I think is...
  11. Critique Please!

...all the more reason to switch to navy blue. hahahaha
  12. New: Before & After

I like it a lot! But I would make the main color of the hurricane looking icon the darker color, and the lighter color be the drop shadow, to make it read like Services not ervices. Love....Jill
  13. Dimensional Background Choices

You may want to re-think Extira. It's heavy as hell, and it doesn't allow paint to stick to itself very well.
  14. Critique Please!

I like this much better. It's more balanced, and that was what bugged me about the others.
  15. business cards

I can design you some bizcards. Love...Jill
  16. signpainting student

That's great to see, hopefully you've lit a fire under this kid and he has the taste for paint now. A lot of people say that sign painting is dead, and they are dead wrong. Go to any pinstriper's meet and you will see young folks chomping at the bit to get their brushes wet. They are eager to...
  17. working on new concession trailer

I like the first one a lot but I agree about the colors not being very appealing. What about a rich red on the roof and where you have the corn dogs but with light creamy ivory for the lettering? I'd lose the blue. The layout looks non carny and upscale and might be a nice contrast to all the...
  18. Dimensional Background Choices

    Joe, that is outstanding.
  19. Font Help Please

    Brewer's Bold! That's why I couldn't find it. Thanks Tiki...it was bugging me. :)
  20. Font Help Please

Top one looks like LHF Bell Boy, squished and slanted. The bottom one reminds me of a squished LHF Esoteric Regular, but it's not quite it. Love....Jill
