  1. My Friend Juanita

It is simply a tragedy... My sympathies go out to her family, friends, and soldiers. From a one-time US Army SGT.
  2. New computer, should i go XP or Windows 7

Yep, I agree. MS is already designing future Operating Systems in 128 Bit. I doubt that we will see another 32 Bit OS come out of Microsoft.
  3. Anyone on Facebook? Are social networks really this addictive?

Not only am I on FaceBook, but now my 7 year old daughter won't get off of FaceBook. She plays games on there and is contantly asking me to play the game too so that I can give her stuff fom the game. Personal - http://www.facebook.com/flycaster?ref=profile SignBurst -...
  4. New computer, should i go XP or Windows 7

Personally, I wouldn't stick with XP now that Windows 7 is out. Windows 7 has MANY advantages over XP. Yes, you may have to upgrade some of your software, but isn't that going to happen eventually anyhow?
  5. Hello from Rage Wraps

    Hi Phil! Welcome.
  6. windows cannot share file

Vista and XP share files with each other very well. The first thing that I would check would be any software firewalls. The Vista firewall should automatically configure itself when you tell Vista to allow file-sharing in the Network and Files Sharing Center, but third party firewalls won't...
  7. Photoshop Tips, Tricks, & Other Goodies

I would have to say that clearing the "prefs" file in Photoshop is one of our most often used tech tips. If you are having strange, unexplainable, issues in Photoshop, simply clearing the "prefs" file may help. Windows PCs: 1. Close Photoshop 2. Hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift 3. Right-click the...
  8. Computer Problem I Can't Solve.

Sounds like a registry issue to me. You are having profile issues (not printer profiles, but user profiles). Do you get any warning about having to resort to a temporary profile while logging in? It might be possible that you are it is assigning you the "all users" profile as well. It...
  9. Computer Problem I Can't Solve.

Do you lose your desktop files and icons? I mean, do they reset too? How about your desktop image? Is it a custom image? If so, does it reset?
  10. installing xp in a win 2000 comp?

Yes. It is as easy as backing up any data you want to keep and booting from the XP CD. XP might even have all of your drivers built in.
  11. The "Wrap Daddy" Computer

Well this one has been dug up from the depths... As I understand, Fellers has reduced the price to $5000 for the Wrap Daddy (which we built for them). At that price, with everything that it comes with, it isn't a bad price. The catch is that is a little outdated. It is still faster than...
  12. screenshots you can see on here?

    perfect!
  13. AI "An unkwown error has occured"

Size does not equal speed. A smaller, faster (higher RPM) drive or array of drives would almost certainly show better performance than a single TB drive. Larger single drive capacity often comes at a performance cost. CS4 should be fine. Since you are using a single drive, it will use that...
  14. AI "An unkwown error has occured"

Well the hard drive should be sufficient, not fast, but sufficient. More RAM would probably help as well. What version of Illustrator?
  15. AI "An unkwown error has occured"

It may be the software. Illustrator does have it's limits, but it is more likely that the computer system is running out of resources. It is not only running out of RAM, but also hard drive space. Your CPU (processor) is more than adequate. We don't see this particular error often on our...
  16. AI "An unkwown error has occured"

This is the most probable situation. What version are you using and what are the specs of your computer?
  17. Hard Drive partitioning?

That is a very odd configuration. In theory, it should work. The problem is that there are applications out there that simply will not work unless your app and OS are on the C:/ drive. I can think of one major antivirus that had this problem a couple years ago. Not to mention, you have to...
  18. Hard Drive partitioning?

I haven't done it in a while (server does this automatically), but try this: Right-click "My Documents" Select "Properties" Type the new path in the "Target" box, or click the "Move" button Select your new location ( E:/ or whatever your second partition is) Click OK
  19. Hard Drive partitioning?

I guess that might be possible, but not enough to really notice. I would install the apps in their default location (on system C:/ drive). It is a lot less headache. You can redirect your "My Documents" or "Documents" folder to the second partition. That is actually a pretty good idea...
  20. Hard Drive partitioning?

Why would you want your programs on another partition? There are a few programs that simply don't function properly if you do this. Maybe a partition for the OS AND programs, then seperate partition for your personal/data files.
