  1. Pub Logo

Now I want a dreamsicle, thanks a lot. I think the logo looks great, Joe. I wouldn't change a thing on it. And I see "PUB/13" before I see "PU 13" I think you blended the two items perfectly. Well done.
  2. Tornados Hitting Dallas-Fort Worth Area

This is our friends house. Fortunately, they made it through it safely. They were in the house when all of this happened.
  3. Tornados Hitting Dallas-Fort Worth Area

I was actually driving to Burleson to survey a bank at about 1:00 and had to pull over under an overpass due to the hail. It cleared up and I drove the rest of the way and then part way through the survey, it POURED. It let up after about 30-45 minutes and I was able to finish the survey...
  4. When signs go bad (or, how to hurt your business)...

Exactly - they're the brackets for shelving. I was pretty shocked when I saw them. This is at what I believe is the 4th largest bank in the U.S. - I'll leave it at that. You got it. I'm doing 35 of these in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex due to an upcoming re-branding. This one definitely...
  5. When signs go bad (or, how to hurt your business)...

....Just kidding. This was at one of the banks I was surveying today though. Made me laugh a little.
  6. Ghosting on backlit sign face

No sir, I haven't personally damaged either with Windex.
  7. Ghosting on backlit sign face

I agree - on new polycarbonate, a quick spray-on / wipe-off isn't going to cause any damage. But spraying it on a face that isn't brand new can cause it to cloud. I probably should have phrased myself better in my initial post. I simply meant that I wouldn't use it on an old face. He also...
  8. Ghosting on backlit sign face

Not true. The ammonia in the Windex can discolor the polycarbonate, especially if this is an older, weathered face. Will it damage a brand new sheet if sprayed on and wiped off quickly? Probably not. I'm not trying to be argumentative, but I hate to see him ruin the face any more than it is...
  9. New shop logo...tear me apart please!

I agree with bob. I vote for losing "RESTYLING". At first glance, I thought it was "FREESTYLING" but then realized it wasn't and had to read it again. Then I wondered (and am still wondering) what exactly "restyling" encompasses. I think the "RESTYLING" is too distracting.
  10. Shop logo re-design

Gotchya... I think a more 'machined' gear would look better. That one reminds me of a mud tire. No offense, just my opinion.
  11. Storefronts - Interior or Exterior?

I've surveyed numerous locations that were in pretty rough parts of town that used polycarbonate in place of glass and 2nd surface vinyl. For them I guess it was worth it, but generally, as mentioned, 1st surface looks much better.
  12. Shop logo re-design

Is one of those old and one new? Or both new? The top one doesn't look like a gear to me - the teeth look too long and skinny and rounded. Maybe give them more of a machined look...? Just my two cents.
  13. Ghosting on backlit sign face

It can cloud or discolor the polycarbonate.
  14. Ghosting on backlit sign face

If its polycarbonate, be careful what cleaning solutions you use. Windex and other strong solvents are no-no's.
  15. black perforated on window?

It may depend on what you're referring to as "perforated". Perforated black vinyl is commonly used on channel letter faces so that they appear black during the day but illuminate a different color at night. It's more commonly referred to as "day/night" vinyl and is typically black or white...
  16. New Eagle Hatchlings

She's a sound sleeper. I tapped on the screen and she didn't even budge.
  17. Werner Work Platform.

90 day return policy....Tell them you want the sale price or you're just going to return what you bought for a refund and repurchase it at the sale price.
  18. Blockbuster signs

Can't imagine another company wanting to use it given the shape - even if you changed the face. Also can't imagine it would be worth refabricating it into a rectangle and trying to resell it.
  19. 80 mph

...well, they made it onto Good Morning America. Should be interesting.
  20. Organic Lawn Care

I wonder if 'Organic Lawn Care' wouldn't flow a little better than 'Organic Yard Care'...? Just a thought. I like the revised designs.
