Well the OP should talk to my SIL. Her last gaming laptop cost roughly $4000. No that is not a typo.
That being said I agree with Unclebun. When I'm done with work I'm done. Don't need to drag that s%$t into my free time. We are here for a finite time and I choose to have more fun and be a...
Watched bits and pieces so far. Can't remember the gents name but he said country music back then didn't necessarily have the best singers. People liked it because of it's authenticity. Nothing like today's country music.
4 hours total per trailer. I should have 'splained it better.
Talk to the client and tell them the bid could change once you get a few done. Shop I work with does this. Last couple years they've done graphics on at least 200 trailers. 16" wide full length stripe, plus company logo and...
Rough guess:
Vinyl cost plus overhead etc...
Lift rental. Platform type so you don't have to keep moving it. Moving staging around is a PITA.
4 hours per unit. Includes cleaning, install, post heat etc...
May sound like a lot of time but you can't count on the condition of the trailers...
Coro is used on our local buses. Buses also have frames installed. I'd be worried about "air freighting" an ACM panel off the side at speed.
Did a bunch of box trucks over 20 years ago and used J channel for mirrors. 3mm coro fit perfect.
I've had a Mutoh 1624x since the end of April and am quite pleased with it's output. Still learning the ins and outs since previous printer was a Roland. One of the first jobs I did with the Mutoh was boat lettering. The blue looked like cut vinyl when done. In fact most solid colors look...
This^^^
I no longer cut vinyl in house. It comes from a place that does nothing but cut vinyl. I do all of their digital prints and it works great for all involved. I no longer stock 80 different colors and they don't have to buy print equipment and hire a person to run it.
Change is possible and inevitable. You either change how you work or the job will ultimately take a permanent toll.
My neighbor was a shining example of this. High stress position. Ended up getting carted out of work on a stretcher. Doctor told him either you quit the job or the job quits you.
OP never said what he does. If it's sketching, drawing, or taking notes check into a Microsoft Surface. Former student used one in my classes. He cranked out some incredible artwork. He proved the axiom of it not being the tool as much as the person using it.
Our Summa D610 ran enough the rubber on the pinch wheels got thin, split and fell off. Literally miles and miles went through it. 50 yard rolls of material day after day was normal. It's gotta be 15+ years old.
It would still be in use, but I bought a 54" Summa which is now two years...
To the OP. Doesn't matter the make or model. If you don't have enough business to justify the cost of the printer, inks, materials, etc... sub out until you do.
Wow neat rig! Not 40 grand worth of neat for me though.
4'x4' CNC is what I'll focus on.
If I need laser work I use a shop run by guys I used to work with. Their "big rig" is a 10,000w Hitachi. They also added a waterjet to their lineup.
Thank you for information. I also think a CNC would be a better choice. Found some Gerber 404's on the web. Look to be built like a tank.
Now to tell the wife...
Sold my old printer to make room for the new printer. Wife recently said she wants a laser. I'd like to have a small format CNC with 4'x4' cut area.
Products...? Industrial equipment tags for the time being. Other than that grow into the rig.
What do the Signs 101 experts say?
Absorbs 99.9% of available light. Just gave a lecture about additive/subtractive colors and why you don't wear black in the middle of August.
If you could wrap a vehicle it would become a rolling oven.
