The number 0 is just plain wonky like a few of the other characters that haven't yet received enough attention to detail.
I'm not sure why the a looks different in the samples. My business partner looked at them and thought he saw the same thing until he looked again and realized that they are...
The software that I use allows individual kerning pairs and has a test feature with several default phrases such as pangrams, latin and english phrases and also your own editable text. But individual kerning pairs on a script font with connecting letterforms is typically unecessary for reasons I...
From my experience, avoiding a situation that is unpredictable is better than trying to tackle one. I would rather just replace the panel, apply the new graphic and be done. You're not doing your customer a disservice by opting for replacement. It's generally cheaper to do it that way, if you're...
Exactly. Whether to emphasize "Sterling" or "SIGNS" would depend a lot on how long you've been in business and how well the Sterling name is known by the locals. If the company has been in business twenty years, then it might be wise to emphasize Sterling more, otherwise I think it's good as it is.
I started working on this Tattoo style script about 2 months ago. I still have a lot of tweaking to do, but it's close to completion. I'm pretty excited as it's the first script font I've worked on and it took a lot of work to even get to this point. Having been a tattoo artist, I find it...

Has anyone else seen this video? The guy is a riot but he makes a great point.

Anyway, I stumbled onto this video several weeks ago and it's had me thinking about business cards for our business. The ones we've had up until now are 16 pt. stock...
Yeah. These people in the sign business have no clue how ridiculous people's requests can get until they work as a tattoo artist. Been there, done that. I tattooed for 20 years and I'm SOOO glad I got out of it and into the sign biz.
What a fantastic and helpful post. I guarantee you have enough things on your daily schedule that you didn't have to make time to give this valuable lesson, but you did anyway. I commend you for your effort.
The first one has too many competing elements. If you adjust the proportions so the elements contrast better, it would work okay. I'm posting my 10 minute version to better illustrate.
I like the modern feel of the second one, but the line drawing background imagery is weird and unfitting, not...
