if your printer doesn't print white you will not be able to do what you want. you can try printing on clear and then apply a contour cut of vinyl to back it up but it depends on how many also how much detail in the graphic. you need to screen print, gerber print or find someone with a printer...
we die cut ours but we also make steel rule dies and have 2 die cutters.
die cutting is quick and easy if the quantity allows for the added cost of a die
(14" circle shouldn't cost more than $50-75 plus the charge to cut the blanks)
i understand what you are saying but i do check the wipers and the print heads regularly but the aren't all gummed up and when i notice a build up that's when i clean it, i change the wipers when they start to bend (that's what the dealers said) and i change the sponges regularly, granted the...
i give our roland printers a manual cleaning every 1-2 months unless there is a printing problem or if i notice a lot of crap building up.
and we haven't had any problems other than normal maintenance
(replaced 2 capping staions, had the pump upgraded, had a service call for encoder strip...
nice job! but on the weekend work i think sometimes i like that better, no phones ringing, no customers or employees bothering you. just work and get stuff done.
Pat we use it all the time, cut alum up to .050, pvc & styrene up to .060
polycarbonate up to .050 and no problems (sometimes it pulls a little but the edge is fine
most of the removals i do are just truck doors small things like that and usually for big customers that we do there fleets so for the most part $25 hr isn't too bad. and i hate removals also i only did one once for a friend at the fire dept where i got killed (early in the truck lettering...
you could use pretty much any type of ridgid material, i have used .010 or .020 pvc or styrene as well as lexan. the banner material may not look that good but i guess if it is installed the right way it would work.
best bet is to get a look at the old signs first and then decide what road to...
+1
we subcontract jobs all the time with little to no problems and we also deal with about 4 print brokers and also little to no problems (biggest problem they always try to beat you down on price) and i think if you can find 1 or 2 brokers you can get a good business relationship with you will...
and the removal ...aaaahhhh.....hate removal.

i did a regular 48ft trailer and charged $350 took me 3 days approx 5 hours each day and i had to remove the letters by have with a torch to soften them up...sucked!!! then preassure washed it...
either use our laminator or i will use a 30in core and i push the app. tape over the graphics with that and squeegee over the top, works similar to the EZ roll applicator (takes a little while to get used to but it works pretty good)
how is it compared to photo-tex that is the closest thing i have printed on to canvas and i just used the solvent glossy canvas setting and it worked great
thanks i will check that out
weird though i did get it to work on my vp-540 with no issues just ended up using glossy wht vinyl and the high quality print mode
