You can control the curves inside onyx media manager in the calibration section. Ideal curves will change depending on inks and printer ect.
Gotcha.
I use to have problems building profiles in onyx too until i really started tweaking ink limits, curves ect.
Wow, you guys are really mixed up.
I have a European background, so i do get what you're saying and experienced that first hand. I think it's more the language barrier also.
Yes i've noticed a few of my clients do the same. I like to explain that perspex is a brand name and acrylic is the...
Coroplast - Corflute - Corx = Corrugated plastic
Perspex = Acrylic
There's obviously a difference in different countries.
There's many more, But why do people do this?
You're right. There's no point in upgrading unless you need to or you know you can use the features.
It all depends how good your profiles are in the beginning.
It's not about tinkering, it's about real world results and data. To create an ICC profile you need a spectrophotometer and to check...
With in onyx? only 18 does it and i haven't used it so not sure. But the youtube videos may help
Outside of onyx? There's software for it. I've also never used software to check as i dont do g7 and fogra standards. I wasn't going to pay for software that i didn't really need as we only print...
cheaper for 3yrs. But 18 is the update you'd want if you do a lot of colour control i believe. otherwise the rest are fine. But if anything id have at least x11.
There is a few issues with 12.2 so i am hanging for it. As always im in for the new colour management stuff.
I think they've done something for image placement on the RIP Que. or they just make the image larger to see placement.
I've never liked onyx colour engine, But from x10 to x12 it has...
Onyx have announced "Onyx 18" upgrade from 12.2. Avalible in june. Im pretty keen to get my hands on it.
A New Color Experience
ColorCheck™, a new approach to process control that enables print service providers to guarantee color accuracy to their customers as well as ensure consistency of...
It does no where say create a paper template. draw it on paper. write it on paper. use a notepad to get your numbers down. how ever you feel. Then do it on computer.
Yes it will work. this is childs play. if you know how to use a ruler and protractor.
Paper templates are only usefull if...
You're kidding me... photos? cutting paper and scanning? Seriously?
First off, I'd be doing this in illustrator because that's what i like to use for vector drawings.
Go get a ruler and a protractor. Start at the bottom. Measure the lengths of each like. to get the angles, use a protractor...
My clients will get either an email or print out (mostly email) of a image (.jpg) of an a4 piece of paper with my company name on it, their name on it and the image they're getting printed. There's also a disclaimer saying "this is a preview only, colour representations may differ from final...
Im trying to help because your problem is an easy solution.
You dont need a spot colour for every shade. Follow my instructions i gave you. it will solve your issue.
Spot colours work with gradients. if your spot colour is black 100%k then a gradient of that is the rest of the greys to white...
Im not sure you quiet understand how ICC Profiles work.
You create, or you pay someone to create an ICC profile for the particular media you're printing on. and that profile will only work for that media. You cannot use a profile for a vinyl on paper or even a coated paper profile on a uncoated...
wow..... You CAN use spot colours in photoshop and YES you can use spot colours in a CMYK or RGB raster image.
And well, yes you also can print gradients with spot colours.
So before trying to make me look like an idiot.. you should know what you're talking about first before jumping at me...
