    You may have a bad circuit board, hold down FAST and ENTER immediately after you power on to enter Maintenance mode.     Have Epson send you a set of teflon pinch rollers, we run the crap out of our s30 and after about a year of heavy use our pinch rollers were basically disintegrating and leaving residue on the media and prints looked very similiar to your first picture. Best of luck.

One trick I have found on stubborn stuff is to wad a paper towel up and soak a 1" diameter area then dab onto the trouble spot and wait a minute then dab again and generally the glue will come off...
