Not sure how far away his site is but, what if you called him and said " you've got to be going crazy with all your work, I can help you by lettering your dumpsters at your site" Charge him extra for travel and off-site lettering and possibly turn it into a winner.
We made a sign many years ago. Our first smalt sign. I ordered sand smalt rather than glass, not knowing any better. The sign came out beautiful. The client was very happy. About a year later I got a call, "the black background is getting very faded" knowing smalt is supposed to last about...
We cut lots of .25" aluminum letters and occasionally some .375" aluminum. I have an air jet system that we never use. We buy single flute bits from tools today that are specifically designed to cut aluminum (others sell them too) If you set the speed and feed properly, the cut will be very...
My wife is a teacher and I know for a fact there's none of what you speak of in her district. She communicates with parents daily, even on weekends.
They can log into powerschool, a software her school district uses and see all class work, homework and grades.
Over the years I've made signs for both major parties and a few independents. Whether I agree with my client's political views or not, I make signs, that's what I do. I would refuse to make signs that incite violence toward anyone or any group no matter their political leaning.
Weld up an aluminum frame with vertical & horizontal ribs where panels but together. Mount ACP to the frame with pop rivets.
Attach two horizontal french cleats to the building and two to your sign one near the top, one near the bottom. Lift the sign and drop it onto the french cleats. Be sure...
We have been charging $250 for many years. I spoke to a fellow sign maker recently who charges $300. That's the reason for my post. BTW, when we need to install a second sign we always charge the $250 again.
Hi all, I know that in part it is based on your geographic area and your overhead, but it would be interesting to hear what companies charge for a standard real estate foreclosure sign.
24"x36" single sided installed within... say a 1/2" hour drive from your shop.
Thanks for any responses. John
Use double sided tape. There are ones specifically for that purpose. They hold well and also remove easily,

Rather than the whole wood block thing, Just put a C-clamp on one post, put a level across and put another C-clamp on the other post. Use the clamps to rest the sign on.
Go to Google maps and google a place you are thinking of moving to. Click on search nearby and type in signs. All the sign shops in the area will show. Zoom out to see the number of shops in that area. If the area is saturated, move on.

I made a set of magnets for a guy's pick up. When he picked them up and tried to put them on they literally jumped off the door. Turns out he had a pair of 6"x9" speakers in the door panels. The magnets opposed each other.
Dave, I'm far from a CNC tech, but the time our router started doing things it wasn't programmed to do we found that a drive belt had skipped a notch. I would examine your Z access, ball screw most likely. After 26 years you may need to replace parts.
Hi folks,
I was just contacted by a non profit for digital printing. They need a 62"x118" print. Temporary, interior, as inexpensive as possible and they need it by Thursday;) We can't print that large in one piece and seams are not their preference. I'm thinking walltex or something like that...
