  1. L25500 - stripes and printhead dies pretty fast

Another thing to look for with mysterious banding - we had a couple of big head strikes and banding afterwards. We tried everything and eventually shone a light under the heads. There was a small shred of paper wrapped around something there, dragging slightly across the print causing the...
  2. Help! Blurry One Way Vision on sloped vehicle rear windows

The company is in Perth yeah? I did an install for a local company who sourced the graphics from a company over there. It was meant to be IJ180 but turned out to be that Arlon wrap vinyl with the grabby adhesive which was a real pain to apply. Could be just the way they roll - quote...
  3. Best drill bit for acrylic and polycarbonate?

Masonry bits work in acrylic too with no chance of shattering.
  4. outstanding invoices

New accounts and one offs are 50% deposit, balance before delivery. Large companies are 30 days and if they start to run late change to payment in full before delivery. If you are firm most people understand. If they don't, well there are other places to get credit.
  5. Printing pink Pantone 212 c for vehicle wrap dull colors

Sounds like a profile issue. Are you using custom profiles? The latex printers have a decent gamut and the Onyx spot color lookup table usually gets pretty close.

There will always be somebody cheaper... just move on.
  7. I did a ba-a-a-a-d thing...............................

  11. Howdy from OZ

Hola from beautiful Waterloo. You say signs fade fast here like that's a bad thing.
  12. Please help! wrap print distorted (puckered?) prior to laminating

Try misting some water onto the back of the liner and letting it dry out again flat on the bench. It's the liner that's distorted - not the vinyl.
  13. Ditching cable TV

Roku, Netflix and a MotoGP.com subscription sees me entertained. How good is that new Marco Polo series?
  14. Illustrator CC 2014 EPS files cut twice!

Try giving the objects a fill and no outline.
  15. General Formulations Concept 230 Automark

    So how does it remove?
  16. Help: Getting rid of lint marks

Honestly you don't need it for decent media. You didn't say what printer you have did you? On our Roland when printing banners we use the media edge clamps to keep threads down. For small flaws like you have there just get some coloured marking pens. Sure the pen will fade fast but once...
  17. Should I charge more than $29 for this sidewalk sign?

That's not an issue. He's already paid for his equipment. Not from selling stuff at this price though...
  18. Stick With Roland or Go HP Waterbase?

We had 2 Rolands and got a L25500 when they had a runout sale. Then bought another which we still have. They're great production machines but do have a shorter life than the solvent printers. I learnt from owning HPs years ago it's not a great idea to rely on one as your only printer. I...
  19. Your Thoughts on new shop set up...

We do them occasionally. $50 cash and I spend 5 minutes max with the customer. They can have black or white vinyl in Helvetica medium. If they want to be difficult they are shown the door. Next..
