  1. How to Print true CMYK ???

It's beneficial to orinters that have non CMYK colors like red and orange. I think if your profiles correctly, CMYK is fine. Most machines are not profiled correctly... So RGB gives better results. Onyx for example doesn't print in RGB. You feed it an RGB file.and it converts all those colors...
  2. How to Print true CMYK ???

What information was wrong? I think you should re-read his question. He's trying to print 4 squares... one C, One Y, One M, One K. Obviously he wants a 100% Cyan, a 100% yellow.. a 100%M, and a 100%K.. Instead he got a reply telling him to design in RGB. I'm pretty sure you can't use an RGB...
  3. How to Print true CMYK ???

Not to be a dick, but how does this have anything to do with OP's question? He wants to print in pure C M Y K... As in a pure cyan square, a pure Magenta, etc. Why? Maybe he wants to see if one of his heads is having a problem... Maybe he wants to test for ink starvation... Maybe something...
  4. Suggestions Solvent to Latex

From power off to boot is about 4-5 minutes. From sleep to print is about 3-5 minutes also. I've had it restart once, one time it just froze mid print... It is really reliable, but every machine will have a glitch once or twice. The main glitch is the screen will become slow to respond...
  5. Suggestions Solvent to Latex

Once the bar lowers to a certain point, it'll wind up the reel. I've never pretaped it to the bar as that'll take up 4+ ft of material... If you're doing a ton of rolls a day and pressed on time, and want to just tape it up I can see that being useful... otherwise I do it manually. You can...
  6. Suggestions Solvent to Latex

Id suggest doing a factory reset on your printer. Since its used you never know what settings the old owners put into it.. But I can tell you wasting 4 ft of media isn't normal. You can get by with no waste if you babysit the machine even... I just waste a foot because I don't want to stand...
  7. Suggestions Solvent to Latex

I always have use take up turned off on my 110. Not sure if it's even an option on the 560 as I don't remember seeing it.. But it could be and that may be the problem. As Bly said, keep it off and tape it up mid print, it's what I do. What flappy thing do you use to load? Our printer came...
  8. How do you protect your money?

I carry about $80-100 in my pocket for places that wont take debit / credit. 99% of my purchases are via a card that gives me 1-2% cash back on everything - We even try to pay most of our work vendors via cards that collect airmiles so we get free flights/hotels to trade shows. It's not...
  9. Suggestions Solvent to Latex

It should only load 1-2" into the printer. I'm not sure why yours loads 4 ft... Must be a setting or something is wrong. I know you can tell it to load xx inches before it prints, I turned that off. I usually extend it until it gets passed the "hump" in the heater... Once its extended enough to...
  10. Smallest / least expensive latex printer (maybe?)

Interesting. If orange and red lasts that's good. My next printer may be an epson, I've been thinking about getting one to go alongside my latex! Ive always hated solvents and their expensive heads. But so long as I'm the only one touching it I'm not worried. I'd never buy one and have...
  11. Decal material for pallet racking

Barcode magnets are what you want. If you just plaster stickers on these racks... removable or not, they'll leave a ton of residue and other shreds behind, and your racks will look like garbage after a few changes. We always cut magnets in something like 2x6, print onto vinyl and apply them...
  12. Smallest / least expensive latex printer (maybe?)

Doesn't the orange ink only last 4-6 months before fading in the S80600? If so I wouldn't advise wrapping with it... I'd convince my customers to do a slightly less neon wrap that will last 5-10 years.
  13. 8048 Shrinking

It certainly has it's ups and downs. We told them straight up theres some colors in avery we need, and will be sticking to Avery. But we're a "Preffered" 3M shop, so 99% of our product is 3M. We only use avery where we absolutely need to... I also bring in Oracal because 3M can't compete with...
  14. 8048 Shrinking

The matching overlam is 8548... Which is the long term.version of 8048. You must have had a bad roll, we do lots of 480/8548 wraps and it's never easy to delaminate. Did your supplier give you the correct 480? There's sv480 and lx480, SV for solvent and LX for latex. Ij480 without the LX/SV...
  15. 8048 Shrinking

Calandered is squishing vinyl into shape. Cast is using a mold and pouring it. Intermediate cast isnt made the same way as calandered is... It's made with a mold and flowed out. At least 8508 is... You can confirm with your 3M rep if you'd like, we did. The reason 8518 is more expensive is...
  16. It's Crooked

We got.contractdd to produce and put up 40 window films at 20 different locations as part of our hospitals advertisement. They were kind of like a cling.. But not a cling. I opted to do most of them overnight so I didn't have to put them on opening doors with hundreds of customers coming...
  17. 8048 Shrinking

8048 isn't a calandered. It's not a pvc product so it's made completely different. It technically shouldn't shrink. Even 8508 isn't a calandered. It's an intermediate cast. We use 180 + 8518 on 99% of vehicle wraps... We mainly use 8048 for our flat signage that doesn't need to last 10 years...
  18. 8048 Shrinking

I messed up the end of a sign I was laminating today. It was on Nikkalite.... The ease in which I could pull off the 8048 was scary. We've never had one delaminate on us... But it was easier to pull it off, even in non printed areas than it is to pull transfer tape off.
  19. You trippin?

Weeds been legal in Canada for awhile. In BC we've had stores selling it out in the open for 5+ Years. We haven't had an increase in accidents, no increase in DUIS, Pretty much everything people were worried about didn't happen. The worst is you can walk down the street and the smell will hit...
  20. Lead times

Dont keep them happy. You can't compete with online pricing for the most part. It's a different business.... While your servicing your town of may e 500,000 to 1 million people, they have the Customer base of 500 million... Which means they buy in more bulk than us, they have enough equipment to...
