  1. Font ID

    Anyone know this font?
  2. Font ID

Thanks! I should have thought of that.
  3. Font ID

Any more matches? Global Regular looks like a poorly traced ripoff of the original font. The vertical strokes should have straight edges, not concave curves and the terminals on 'c' and 'e' should be vertical, not angled.

  5. Close to Myriad but not quite?

This one is very similar to Myriad, but the stroke width has more variance, the letters are slightly wider. The top terminal on the 'F' is slightly angled instead of straight, and the top edge of the 'P' is not rounded like Myriad.
  6. Printing on "pop-up" or no curl material.

If it's that bad, you need to try a different material. We run eco-sol on a Roland XC-540 and have no issues with this type of material. Definitely crank the heat up, and if it's still wet, slow down the head speed or try unidirectional (takes twice as long). Our prints come out dry and ready to...
  7. Issues centering text

Exactly. And this will typically cause centering problems when the number "1" is at the beginning or end of the line, since it's much narrower, but it typically only becomes a problem when you have extremely tight margins around the text. You can either convert to outlines or you can manually...
  8. Need Help In mounting acrylic letters to concrete wall

I would be a bit worried about black 1/8" letters warping in the sun, but acrylic I think would be less prone to warping than say, PVC letters.
  9. Help a beginner out with dry-erase material?

In my experience, dry erase "ghosting" is something that happens when you write something and leave it for a long time. I don't think you'll have as much of an issue if you're frequently erasing and rewriting. Also I've found that when ghosting does occur, it can still be removed cleanly by...
  10. Thoughts on my logo? Thoughts on the name?

Yes. Bad designers seem to project this fantasy where breaking the rules and thinking outside the box are the same thing. In fact, one is a recipe for bad designs while the other is about innovation.
  11. What the client wants VS what I designed.

Fix your hierarchy. All anyone is going to see is Power Washing. That's not the name of the company, is it?
  12. How Would You Produce?

White reflective vinyl with black and red cut vinyl on top. High grade cast vinyl from one of the big 3 manufacturers, and .080 aluminum. I would also rework the layout to make the sign more effective. It doesn't need to say No Parking on it twice, and adding "Anytime" might help as well. Also...
  13. Retro Sign Design

I remember a time when people here would pounce on a design and pick it apart with constructive criticism. Arguments would ensue, feelings would get hurt, but there was always a lot of learning. I would rather teach and learn than just give a pat on the back and a "good job!" Here are some...

  16. Cell phone sales

In other words, you're too lazy to do your job, which is give them a good design and justify any decisions you've made that are contrary to their instructions. If your customer is sitting in the director's chair making bad decisions and you're allowing it to happen, then you are not a competent...
  17. Trailer Wrap.... looking for suggestions.

I feel like there's some context missing here. Is there supposed to be a picture?
  18. Ugly truck with stupid body lines..in my opinion

I would beg to differ on this. If you take bad clients, you will get more of the same. If you pick and choose good clients, you will start to get more and more good clients. Then, you'll enjoy your work more, the quality of your work will improve and clients will recognise it, and you'll start...
  19. Ugly truck with stupid body lines..in my opinion

Wow. On a scale of one to trolling, this layout scores a solid 10. Hierarchy? Nope. Just one font in random sizes. Whitespace does not mean "space that needs to be filled". Company name. Really? I bet there's a different "Renaissance Roofing" in every major city in North America. Good luck...
  20. Ugly truck with stupid body lines..in my opinion

It's not that bad. Trucks don't generally have a lot of usable space though. Just get the customer to take it in to the dealer and get the emblem removed from the doors. Big logo on the doors, small one on left or right side of the tailgate, and a big one on the hood. Done. You don't need...
