I've used clear shield and it made the eco-sol run, never trusted it again. But on the side of why to laminate, I've heard of people run banners through their laminator which makes no sense because it's not a flat surface.

What about used and refurb machine choices? I know everyone is cheering for the new models, but what is a good entry level flatbed 4' X 8' or 5' X 10' in used?
I was exactly the same as you starting out. The trick is the tension. Make sure it's tight and the rollers are hard to turn by hand. There are many tricks to laminating. We screw up about 1 in 25 - 35 pieces. Some screw ups can be fixed.
