Yes. A mere drop of vapor on the head circuit will blow the fuse. It could also short the head. First look into replacing the fuse. Try printing. If she blows again the head is gone.
You'll need a another fuse and head.
I did the same when my printer was new. (when I was green) I...
yeah - Pete has one. No complaints on the board about it. I've gotten some print samples from Roland and they look pretty good.
Lamp cost 5k and there's two of them. That's about the worst thing I've heard about the machine.
For cleaning the cap area. Standard flush fluid should do it. If you're going at it lightly is shouldn't damage the paint.
Another option which I had to use on my printer yesterday was rapid remover. use sparingly. Remove-o-paint-o.
that's a good looking machine!!!!
Please let me know who you like that bulk system. I currently use the easyfillpro. It's a garbage unit, but I've gotten passed the awkward shortfalls of the unit and can be productive with it.
I would like to upgrade to this unit at some point.
oh no! I've used macmedia for YEARS with out problems. I've only bought transistors from them, etc. They have never done repairs, but they're a stand up company. Keep us posted
yeah - Roland US is pretty solid. That said I can sympathize with your problems with corporate. My 745 has some faults with ink starvation. Has been a problem since day one. I've spoken with lots of other SJ series owners and we all report the same problem.
I think that my machine needs...
Have you gotten an IR thermometer to check different spots on the platen? I would think you'd need about a five to ten degree difference to affect the color.
One thing you could do if you're feeling gutsy is lift the platen and check the heat core. On my Roland it's a cable and it's held on...
I get this on high static materials like POP films. Goes away after a cleaning.
I ran some POP yesterday and got his on my nozzle check. The humidity in the room was 65% too.
Do you have this on everything that you run. Does a cleaning resolve it temporarily?
Well I started my business with an hp5500 in a third bedroom. It was probably about 90 sqft, I did all my production work on the kitchen table.
Then we moved and I had a one car garage that was beyond packed. Moved again. I'm in about 800 sqft shop now and I'm beyond crammed.
I'd like...
You should do an overprint on backlits. Perfect color is impossible on a backlit. The color will be different when lit/not lit. You need to pick a happy medium. It's the nature of the application. I would go for the best color when lit, since it's a backlit job.
Generic profile is...
sounds like ink fade. are you getting this on anything else? Black head losing prime? Can you increase the ink output or try another profile?
Are you able to decrease the carriage speed? This will help keep a steady flow of ink through the heads.
There is some info here and there on it. I think it's a cool item, but the white ink is problematic for clogging heads. The metallic needs to be laminated and the printer is slow as molasses printing metallic.
Go on rolands site and look at the specs for the printer without metallic and...
sounds like you need to prime the heads. When I do this I take a syringe filled with the color in questions and push it through the manifold until it drops out the nozzle plate.
Once this is done do a regular cleaning and you're good to go.
For the syringe. I took my kids apririn...
