From what i have heard the convex is the best for this job but i think more of the issue is the lam you use that is where you are going to get the abuse

we use them all the time and we laminate as needed (indoor use no problem but outdoor or anything that may come in contact with solvents always lam) and i print silver and gold on black vinyl with no problems the colored foils i usually have to put white behind them or they don't pop but...

we had an academic version and no problems up grading

see if you can find a computer show in the area(not sure if they still do that) but we bought our original versions from a local computer show and they where all leagal but like a third of the price (not sure how they do it ) they had ser.no's and we registered them with adobe all we do now is...

sorry have never used that machine but on our rolands in versa works there is a print menu/settings and you can select custom settings and tell the machine to overprint 1, 2 or 3 times

not sure i have seen a printer that could handle that heavy material but i would do like G-artist said and get some material and check with the dealers are you going to also attach all the hardware needed for it to hang on the trailers or are you just looking to supplie the printed material...

i had some issues with the firmware also but luckily it happened while the tech was installing the pump so he cleared it up for me maybe if you give roland a call they can talk you through any issues or maybe someone here can help you through it

run the tourch over it a few times ..haha do you have a room with a lot of windows that gets warm during the day stick it in there for a while
