hard to tell exactly what it is...but i'd try full block, or aachen, possibly rockwell....if its not one of those, one of them should be close enough...
i know my laptop does some freaky things when it hasn't been shut down in awhile....did you try shutting down??
i'd also try emptying the temp folder (like mentioned above)...
did you run a windows update just before the problem started??
same here PMG...i've been using inkscape for a couple months now...shovel mentioned it awhile back...and i tried it out...love it!!!....never had an issue with virus...

this should get the "black" areas to disappear
the reason the "black" is appearing is because you're overlapping two objects that have a cut.....therefore, it's dropping out that cut to shop the background color....when you contour the two items, you're actually joining...
i'm confused....you can use any punched material through a gerber machine....i'd suggest fdc if you're not using gerber 3m reflective....i would NOT suggest avery
its for an hs tee...the kids designed it on customink.....they call it "poopy" there...but i can't find the font anywhere else....i'm thinking about making it as large as i can and then just tracing it...i would prefer not to trace it tho
i know when i import something into composer from any where else, i have to reset the cuts/prints cause composer sees it all as a print and no cuts (usually)....maybe this is the same thing the "make cutter path shape" is probably exporting one print object (the one you created) as well as a cut...
