  1. Customer canceled check for wrap

We made one big mistake as far as placement but I thought we did a good job on paneling, registration and there were fold up doors on three sides - it was a hard project. But yeah, we're definately living and learning on this one. We were dealing with an employee and he gave a verbal go-ahead on...
  2. Customer canceled check for wrap

We did a wrap on an old trailer and the client wasn't happy about the job. We spoke on the phone and said we would work with them to fix it but the canceled the balance check as we already had a deposit. Should we go to small claims to get our money?
  3. Vp-300, stopping clean too often

Called Roland, they suggested since I had just changed the (OEM) cartiridge the micro chip may have been faulty. I replaced the chip from the empty one and now it seems to be fine.
  4. Vp-300, stopping clean too often

All of a sudden, least on this job, it gets about half way through each print (doing 4-up 24"w x 18"h) and stops to clean. ??

  6. cutting a shape laminate sticks, cutter skips

Ok, just got one, what should the offset be?
  7. cutting a shape laminate sticks, cutter skips

no cuts or nicks in strip but again I will be ordering a new one, no bubbles, or wrinkles, do you usually have them? I don't... Blade is free, and easy, no wobble. After it turns a corner it looks like a tire tread as it drags along. It does cut through but it also makes the "track" on the...
  8. cutting a shape laminate sticks, cutter skips

    1) I'm using a new Roland CAMM_1 blade right out of the box, 2) It is the correct blade (45 degree, 25 offset, should I try 60 degree?), The holder, it is tight in the bracket and there doesn't appear to be any play in the bearing of the holder. Very very slight if any. I flipped the cut strip...
  9. cutting a shape laminate sticks, cutter skips

Using a Roland VP-300, 3M-180, Oracal 290 lam. Cut contour blade seems to be skidding, not cutting in areas. Is the angle of the blade or materials? I seems to be worse lately as I never really have had this issue befor. Sometimes a tight point would skip but not a nice curve or a straight line...
  10. Applying vinyl to rear of round tanker?

It's one big round graphic covering the whole back, curved part of the tank. The graphics are being supplied. I can probably request it though.
  11. Applying vinyl to rear of round tanker?

We're looking at an install on the back of a liquid tanker. The rear is convex. Wondering if anyone has any sugestyions on install. Also, I think we'll get it in two pieces should I request horizontal or vertical?
  12. Reverse wound laminate?

Yeah, I mean the backing material comes off correctly and it feeds fine. It's just when it comes out it wants to lift and hit the feed roll as it feeds off the "bottom" of the roll. It has even sucked back into the roller which is a pain to get it un stuck. "...makes no difference" do you mean...
  13. Reverse wound laminate?

I'm using a GBC 40" laminator. I had been using Oracal laminate which comes reverse wound (good). The material travels in right direction as it comes out; as in it rotates in the direction in samr direction as the material exits. So when I switched to 3M (great stuff and awesome to apply) it is...
  14. Profile for 3M 180 and VP-300i

Thank you anyway. I know I was in the right area, and 3M rep had also directed me there as well - but - the profiles stink; least for my process here anyway. I'm sure if I knew more about it...
  15. Profile for 3M 180 and VP-300i

Nope, tried that one. I'm using a preloaded one at the moment PWV-Premium Wrap Vinyl. Seems to be giving me the right color (greys are tough anyway). Do you have a VP-300? When I use that profile the grey comes out purple.
  16. Profile for 3M 180 and VP-300i

Still not getting what I think is agood print using 3M's profile. Help?
  17. Versa Settings help

If you're using VW try some of the preset profiles. You can also tweak the "Color Management" settings once you've selected a profile. Good luck, I'm working with the same issue myself for 3M-180
  18. Profile for 3M 180 and VP-300i

    VP-300 and I use VersaWorks
  19. Versa Works Contour Cut is Driving Me Crazy!

You need to Flatten Transparency: uncheck convert text and strokes to outlines)you should do that sepertaely); uncheck clip complex regions; line art set to 300, Gradients to 159 and sve the profile so you can use it later (I save as Roland)
  20. Profile for 3M 180 and VP-300i

I used a profile "Roland_VP540_3M_IJ25-10.rml", it was the closest one I could find. When I used it the colors were terrible.
