  1. My new baby.

It's an aluminum body with an etched design. It looks a lot cooler in person.
  2. My new baby.

Got my new laptop in the mail today. It's an HP envy17 with i7. I haven't really had a chance to break it in yet. My old laptop is an hp too. It's about 6 years old now, still works fine, but I just need something a bit faster. I got to tell you, I'm really impressed with quality of this...
  3. Customers over my shoulder, how can i stop this ?

Yup, that would solve one problem but would create a whole different problem at our shop. Then I wouldn't get any work done.:thumb:
  4. Customers over my shoulder, how can i stop this ?

I simply tell them that I don't like it when the customer watches me work. I tell them it makes me nervous. You would be surprised how understanding they always are. They totally understand it. Most of the time they respond with: "Yeah I'm the same way".
  5. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

I've kind of found a solution, well sort of. Although it's kind of a pain, it is at least something I can learn to live with for now. Fortunately, we only need to do this to certain files, where I used a certain color palette and not ever job. What I have to do is first open the file in X3...
  6. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

I just wanted to say. I do appreciate you all trying to help. Here is the color management setup I use for web design in X3 compared to the color management I now have setup in X5. If it is related to Color Management, what can I do to have X5's match my setup from X3? Or more...
  7. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

NO, I know it isn't, but why would that change the actual RGB numerical values? For example: in X3 a color is R:48 G:108 B:159 but that same color opened in X5 is R:104 G:130 B:159 I can understand it changing how the colors appear on my screen or how they print, if I were to print these...
  8. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

Yes CDR files. What I basically need to know is how to stop X5 from changing the RGB values of my older versions of Corel files. And the output for these specific files will be web graphics. That is why I am using RGB values. So, I'm not as much concerned with output from a printers stand...
  9. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

I'm not converting anything, at least not to my knowledge. I'm simply trying to open a file in a new version of the same software. Well, in CorelDrawX3, when I'm finished with a file. I go to 'file' - 'save' then type in the file name I want and click on the "save" button. Now that we have...
  10. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

I'm not converting, I'm simply opening up an X3 file in X5. Is there a place or setting I can change to make sure the RGB values don't change when opened in X5? It isn't related to color profiles is it? Making changes to color profiles wouldn't change the RGB numerical values would they?
  11. RGB from X3 to X5 problems.

We just updated from X3 to X5 A lot of times I use RGB colors. I have noticed that when I open files that were created in X3 up in X5 the colors are wrong. And I don't think it is color profiles, it is the colors themselves: As you can see, the cmyk codes are the same, but the rgb is...
  12. Mel Gibson is a tad bit CRAZY

He is one angry dude that is for sure.
  13. That is not a logo, that is a sign layout

    I agree 100%
  14. That is not a logo, that is a sign layout

True, but a logo can't be recognized until it is read at least once. Right? And, on the flip side, technically a sign can also be recognized after it is read at least once. For example. Do we actually read a stop sign, or do we recognize the red octagon with bold white letters? If a sign...
  15. That is not a logo, that is a sign layout

I've read several critiques of others' work through out my time on this forum and I've heard this stated a few times: "That is not a logo, that is a sign layout". But never any explanation afterwards on why that is. For the benefit of those who don't know the differences, I thought we could...
  16. Surgery Early in the Morning

Good luck man. On the bright side, the nurses won't hold it against you if you start hitting on them when you're all loopy.:thumb:
  17. Changing logo/company name - need your opinion

Maybe a little hard to read, but that sure is sharp. If you take that exact same design and don't change a thing but put it on a dark gray background, I bet it pops!
  18. How do you do the design process?

It is all about trust. It is hard to trust someone you don't know. So you have to sell trust in addition to the job. We have a sketch deposit. We sell it to the client as not an additional fee, but a down payment. It's our way of meeting the customer halfway. They need to trust us enough...
  19. Blackberry versus iphone.

Yeah cause you'll need to keep your hands down off of the thing to get decent reception. :ROFLMAO: Just messin.
