Here you go. I'll post photos of the waterfall soon.
  2. Who handles the Kmart accounts?

They would if they knew the sign had a million problems. I talked to the manager whom I've done work for before and she said to submit a quote and she will get it to the right people.
  3. LED Signs...ect. Wiring question

If you don't have a sign contractors license, it's illegal for you to touch any sign that is electric. If you do have one, all existing signs you are allowed to do everything from changing bulbs, to ballasts/power supplies, new wiring, replace timer/photocell mounting, replace signs, etc. If...
  4. Anyone having trouble with Oracal 751 falling off in a few days?

751 doesn't seem to like heat guns or torches. I am betting it could be wax or the paint of the vehicles.
  5. Right time to purchase new machine / inks

Roland is the way to go. Why do you want a stand alone cutter? What is wrong with a print/cut?
  6. Street signs out of PVC

Why in the world would you use PVC for a street sign? All street signs are aluminum and are either 0.80 or .125. rigid PVC is not a good outdoor substrate.
  7. Who handles the Kmart accounts?

Any idea which national sign company handles the accounts for Kmart? My local one is broken and needs to be replaced (broken as in face busted out, barely light, peeled vinyl, etc). Thanks

  9. Thinking it might be time to hire my first employee, how to in this day and age?

That's what happened to me with interns, but stay hopeful there is a useful, smart one out there somewhere.
  10. I am famous but not rich

One of my projects was featured in Virginia Business Magazine. There is a two page write up about the company and shows a photo of my signage. We built a 9' tall X 13' wide triple indoor waterfall complete with dimensional lettering, etched glass vinyl splash guard, tile, airstone, etc. The...
  11. Thinking it might be time to hire my first employee, how to in this day and age?

Sorry to say but you will never grow like that. If you don't answer calls, they will go somewhere else and won't use you. If you are backed up that pisses off the customers and generally they won't use you again. It's not about doing the best you can, it's about keeping up with supply and demand.
  12. Corel X8 is out!!!!!!!!!!!

For one, you will be limited on types of files you can import. If you ever get a message that a vector "cannot be opened" or that it's "corrupt", it's just your version. With X7, I've never once had a file that wouldn't open. Also the features you use are upgraded to better ones with more...
  13. Corel X8 is out!!!!!!!!!!!

I just looked and it's been released!!!!! woo hoo!
  14. Trouble with lights

Can you provide a photo of the inside of the letter? Sounds like a loose connection in the module. I've had some if you wiggle the wire, the module would go out or all of them together and wouldnt work again if you wiggled it. Kind of like Christmas Lights. Manufacturing could have screwed up or...
  15. Thinking it might be time to hire my first employee, how to in this day and age?

The two best free places to hire is indeed.com and craigslist. (I've hired 4 or 5 people from craigslist, just weed out the good from the bad, I've hired some pretty decent people on there) Indeed is more upscale and generally they seek a little more pay, but it's better. Many paid job sites...

  17. Good channel letter raceway distributor

I've been using Direct Sign Wholesale.
  18. Trouble with lights

Could be an overloaded power supply, count the number of watts per LED and how many are attached to the power supply. It's best to never go above 80% of the max wattage of the power supply. Industry standard is a 60 watt power supply, but you can get a 100 watt UL listed one if needed. Check...
  19. Vinyl express q100- advice please

Cheap quality and brand, not recommended, but if you have a low budget and need one, that's fine.
  20. What would you price this at?
