try what the dr. said
i have had similar problems with versaworks for my roland machines
and usually if i flatten the the file it works but make sure you do save a print file and an edit file because also like the doc said you will not be able to edit or change some things after it is flattened
that's why i started worked out good got in touch with some people i haven't talked to in about 20 years
but now i am getting drinks, snowballs, trees, invites to mob wars, dragon slayers.......and the list goes on and on
i just wanted to talk to some old friends
nice
you learn something new everyday
how does the perf cut effect the cutting bar and the point of the blade
is this only avail on new models
i have seen some plotters that perf cut and there was a channel that the blade pushed into so the point wouldn't hit anything
2 heater settings
1 printer heater- pre-heats the material so the ink will stick
2 dryer heater - helps speed in the ink drying
i keep mine at 35 to 40 degrees for both the print and dryer
i have some polyester backlit material that i bump it up to the max of 50
i don't think you can perf cut on the roland machines(vp540)
i think they are just set up for kiss cut
but if you want to try
i would use a segmented (sectioned/dotted) line where the cuts are and give it the CutContour value and raise your blade pressure so it will go through what you are...
not sure but i thought with most of the plotters you can only kiss cut
or the parts fall out
i have tried a few times with our gerber plotter and material got jammed up
but even with the magnetic if you score it deep enough you can just pop the parts out
signage had the correct equipment for what you want to do and fred had the correct way to go about it
i wouldn't spen that kind of money until you know you have a business there
make some posters and set up a booth at the races sub the work out til you build a customer base then when you have...
i had that happen also
just went back to the old system
if it isn't broke don't fix it
but i am going the the atlantic city show so i will ask someone while i am there
is the temp set correct i had a problem like that once and it was because i lowered my heater print and dryer temp so i could cut some polycarbonate lam on some vinyl
(if the temp is too hot it bubbles
anyway i forgot to turn it back up and the vinyl was not absorbing the ink and it appered to...
when you make your cut line you have to make that a new swatch color and change the name to CutContour (type just like that) and change the color from process to spot color
the actual color doesn't matter
do a search there are some threads on this
also won't the person you bought it from...
we have a piel in the middle out also
i called the dealer told me they send it out to gerber to get it to be fixed
i have to call gerber and go through tech support and get a return auth #
and then bring it to my dealer and they send it to gerber
so what do i need the dealer for if i have to...
took it apart cleaned checked all connections
still have line oh well
the machine doesn't owe mw anything
we have had it about 7 years and it has paid for itself many times over
and continues to make money
i guess i will be calling the service dept tomorrow
thanks again for the tips
