  1. aftermarket wipers?

I haven't tried white. I've used mimaki style after market wipers on my Roland since it was new. Never going back to OEM wipers. Roland OEM wipers are a joke.
  2. 4 Over - The Empire Has Stuck Back!

yup. they're evil. I hope they implode on themselves. two years ago they launched a smear campaign against HP for trying to sell printing. Now look at these a$$holes.
  3. How Roland Make Their Printers

that's awesome. looks like they where putting my 745 together. pretty cool. I've had to take mine apart just about to where they were assembling.
  4. Signjet Xaar print heads

they should last a good long time. There are things you can do along the life of the head to prevent early failure, (search the site) but when something like this happens, it's over. I had two old replacement heads sitting in a drawer that I threw in my machine two weekends ago. I had a...
  5. Signjet Xaar print heads

new head. nothing you can do.
  6. VJ-1304 Warranty Question

Here's what the OEM's don't tell you. Let's say a head board blows. Mutoh is NOT going to cover it. They'll blame the inks shorting the head, sending the short toward expensive boards. Basically OEM will cover stickers, sheet metal and other things that would NEVER fail. If you go...
  7. has anyone used this stuff before? good/bad

I'm using TPrints. The stuff is amazing. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Basically it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. One small problem is ink transfer off the print when you remove the application tape. Also, not good for small text. Mainly only large images, but if you stay within...
  8. inks

let me help. I used Triangle for about a year and really loved it. I hated the smell though. then out of the blue magenta stopped working. Even after TWO print heads. New lines, gaskets, yadda, yadda. nothing fixed it except OEM inks. Bam. worked perfectly. Now i'm on solaris...
  9. Magenta problem!

I had this problem with magenta only using triangle inks last october. Changed everything, head, dampers, o-rings, captops. Only thing that fixed it was switching ink brands.
  10. 23,000 full color labels 4"x4" size - where to print?

Patton Printing in Detroit 313-595-9099 All they do is labels. They're awesome. I've been using them for 8 years.
  11. Roland Soljet Pro111 xc540

Sounds like the experience I had with my 745. It was shipped with water based heads. They fried, which fried my head board. Roland only replaced two heads and the board. Then the other heads fried, ruining the board again. I was able to repair the board. I had to buy the new dx4.5 heads...
  12. Triangle Ink Cartridges: good or bad?

I had a decent relationship with Triangle, then it hit a wall. Triangle burned up a head or two every year on my Roland no doubt about it. I saved a ton of loot though, so I didn't care. When my printer totally stopped working I had a problem. I flushed and went with OEM and worked...
  13. Verticle Banding!!!

do a bi-directional calibration. also, this looks to be "in spec". You're running a solid color at a high pas count I imagine. I get this too at times. A different firing pattern can fix this (profile)
  14. Melted Ink Cartridge PLEASE HELP

I assume that is a non OEM ink. Non OEMS are more aggressive and could melt the carts. That's a first for me though. Did you do something weird to that line when you changed a damper or something like that?
  15. Mousepad from shop materials?

matte vinyl. I use a small matte finishing cutting board.
  16. Are you out of your mind....Part 3

  17. Unusual Coroplast uses!

That's is great. I'm an EAA member. This needs to be posted there. EAA.org. I think a rotax is probably going to be WAY to heavy for this. You'll have to deal with center of gravity issues. Gorgeous work, BTW.
