To cut off the excess I used a straight edge and a snap off blade knife... and a steady hand.
There is a seam at the front corner of the scoop about an inch wide. I overlapped it about 3/16". Never thought about sealer over the seam. What sort of product would I use?

I like it but I think it could use some colour. I agree with Jill on the lower font. Not sure you need the drop shadow. It might look better without it.
The cup is about a foot wide not counting the handle. It was carved from a 3" thick piece of HDU.
I just got some pictures of the signs installed. I would have liked to see some fancier brackets but it's nice to see them all in a row.
