  1. Why the limited gamut?

    1. Create custom profile for media. 2. Open file, preflight on screen. 3. Press print. If it's an exterior sign I'll run off a strip of the grey and take it outside to check for metamerism.
  2. Why the limited gamut?

Listen to Bob. You can get pretty prints without all that fancy calibration mumbo jumbo. Hell of a lot of trouble to go to isn't it?
  3. Need some reassurance...

No. It's a RIP. It's function is to manage the output from your printer. Design in Illustrator, Corel or Photoshop.

The feed calibration pattern uses black only. Unless all nozzles are firing as new you'll get some banding. That's one reason four colour greys are a good idea.
  7. Your Choice Roland printer Please Help

I don't know about the AJs but we had a SJ-745EX and now have two XJ Soljet IIIs. The IIIs are a generation better than the IIs. Still not exactly fast but more refined and print with less banding with the IPC.

  12. Question on channels when wrapping vans

Our supplier says don't use the EZ RS cos the adhesive will thin too much with the air egress adhesive - use the plain 1005.
  13. Never use 20/20 ink for your printer heres why!!

Did you turn it right off at the power switch? If you do that it won't do the regular cleans which stop the heads drying out.
  14. Another fail sign

    Zoom baby zoom.
  15. Another fail sign

The photographer needs to have a close look at himself too.
  16. Onyx vs. Caldera

Try a Quickset which auto rotates a job when opening. Have you used the Layout tool? That gives you all sorts of manual nesting options too.
  17. Bordeaux Ink from N Glantz. Good or Bad? Why?

I've been running Bordeaux in our Rolands for a couple of years now - no problems apart from occasionally the cart runs out without telling the printer. My printer tech said they have fixed this in new carts. He also said the heads are showing less wear than OEM inks.
  18. WTF? ...is this really a National holiday ..TODAY?

You only get the Monday off? We had Tuesday as well. Although most businesses took the Friday off here and won't go back until the 3rd.. I think it's nice to have a bit of downtime.
