Tell him if he pays your rent, insurance and wages for the week you'll do the job for nothing cos he's such a great friend.
  2. Onyx vs. Caldera

I've used Onyx for years so know it pretty well. I think noobs will take a bit of time coming to terms with everything it does. Once it's set up though it can be as easy as dropping your pdf or tiff into a hotfolder from your workstation. I haven't used Caldera so can't comment on it.
  3. Onyx vs. Caldera

Wait it out. There's no reasoning with them at that age. All you can do is lead by example. After they get old enough they stop listening to what you say and only watch what you do. My 21 girl turned out a great person although she is more heavily tattooed than most of my friends.

This approach. Business is business. Best not to feel requests like this are a personal insult. Some people feel there is no harm in asking for something for nothing. Let them know you are there to service them at a fair price when they are ready to spend the right money. Maybe they...

  12. Couple-a-Things / Scavinger Hunt

This chart has the CMYK versions of Pantone colours, not spot colours. Your RIP should have a lookup table to get closer matches if spot colours are used.
  13. A better profile?

+1 We are charging people to accurately put ink on media. The only way to do that effectively is with custom profiles built on your machine for the media you are using. Especially for art and photographic prints.

The HP UV inks are waterbased pigment, not solvent. Any media needs to be specially coated for pigment inks.
