are the acrylic letters thick enough for a flush stud mount? I'd go with that for studs rather than letters that have a pad mount so they aren't raised off the face of the panel but flush to it. you have acrylic and aluminum faced panel both of which expand and contract differently.

never used one. I use a hair dryer as you don't want the heat too hot or all the gummy stuff comes off the vinyl and sticks to the face. do you do this a lot? if so, maybe making a purchase would be a good idea. I don't so the hair dryer is just fine
