  1. the hook up

shouldn't have to cut with water if you're cleaning with haste & intent. the "hot" isopropyl will, however, burn polycarb & paint surface finishes if mindlessly sprayed and allowed to bead for an extended period on the surface. Spray & wipe or spray the rag & wipe, and the goooood stuff is...
  2. Bit cooling when cutting aluminum

i try to limit the amount of water i put anywhere near my steel based router system. whenever i'm too forgetful to drain the air compressors and end up putting wet air through the mister, all my chucks get a nice glaze of rust. Always game to try something new, however, as oil prices are...
  3. the hook up

chemical supply companies in your area. particularly a pool and commercial cleaner supplier.
  4. How do you remove Pylon or Post Signs that have become abandoned?

"how do you remove abandoned signs at little to no cost?" ....put a confederate flag on it :dog42:
  5. Question HP latex, speeding up printing time with out sacrificing quality

printer gonna print. default settings from canned profiles is still pretty fast... sounds like a problem if you're standing around waiting for an entire roll to print a fleet of vans, but for a one-off wrap I think you can find something do do for ~4hrs while your printer runs. Prep the car...
  6. vinyl repairs with laminate

pics or it never happened. ....but i can imagine what a trailer wrapped in calendared media over rivots looks like! cheap wraps are cheap wraps, but you gotta know your limitations: that stuff should be on flat surfaces only. If you intend to be stretching/forming over rivots & bridging...
  7. How do I attach a large wooden sign to building?

tapcons, lagbolts, & togglebolts. oh my
  8. Circle sticker issues

never accept it as "that's just how it is". major note of concern with your sample image: the notch at the top right corner. sure your cut is slightly off-center, BUT the solution may lie within the answer to why your circle is not a complete circle cut. highly doubtful your designer...
  9. Laminator for acrylic?

seal54 is a tank. as long as there are not cuts in the rollers, chances are its worth the buy.
  10. ISO ideas for April Fools shop pranks

edited: oook, throw the goldfish in the isopropyl bottles then :)
  11. ISO ideas for April Fools shop pranks

  12. Discussion More organic traffic but less conversion, how is it possible?

to keep an eye on trends, look no further than pinterest & etsy. most definitely my greatest resource for personal "cute" projects to make gifts for friends/family.
  13. Question Laminating the hard way; help?

he may be correct, and mistaken, at the same time. one of the rolls loses a LOT of its thickness when the liner is removed, the takeup roll should hold an entire laminated roll BUT most likely won't hold two rolls of stock material with its backing. that being said, holding the feed roll is...
  14. Laminator for acrylic?

i do that too BUT that wasn't the question AND how would that sheet get laminated to the substrate to begin with? ...i like where you're head is at tho :) +1 to cutting upside-down, as I tend to nearly exclusively use upcut bits and anything pre-laminated to the substrate appreciates my efforts.
  15. CHANNEL BENDER EX SENSOR 35

its most likely a photo-eye that you're looking for. a little doohicky that shines a red light to another dookicky, held in place by a phillips screw, somewhere in the path of where the metal coil travels to detect its position along the way. he wants you to loosen it so it wiggles back into...
  16. Laminator for acrylic?

HUGE fan of using my CWT table for laminating vinyl/prints/films onto up to ~6" acrylic. I'll even setup rails of scrap material and apply a full sheet to a table full of nested cut letter shapes for channel letters n' such. To each their own, but I feel it is much easier to have the substrate...
  17. Am I able to print on 3M 1080-G364 with my Mutoh 1624 ValueJet (EcoSolvent) Printer?

i print on vinyl all the time to utilize basecolor. I have no experience with ecosolvent, but I haven't had issue with latex or solvent prints in the past... always worth printing a sample, but keep in mind that metallic/reflective effects get drastically dulled with anything but...
  18. Cold-weather silicone for exterior Gemini/stud installs?

oof, letters that big/thick we prefer to put at least pair of studs in it and secure rest with vhb&silicone. even just one pin would hold the letter up long enough for rest of the adhesive to cure, but i'm a big fan of at least two (one to hold-up, one to hold-square)
  19. Cold-weather silicone for exterior Gemini/stud installs?

fun fact, you smoosh silicone flat and its no longer a good adhesive. add tabs of VHB or foam tape to create a proper gap for silicone to have strong hold.
  20. Illuminated push through letters material

interested to see photos of what you're referring to.... i've never seen LEDs bleach-out acrylic. Sunlight, however, will definitely chalk it up over time.
