  1. Buy me a plotter

Stick with Roland or Graphtec - I'd rather have an old Graphtec than a new "cat". I received one of those models when I purchased an out of business sign shop a year ago. I did not like it at all! I hated to do it but sold it on e-bay. Now I have a fc7000, a little over engineered but an...
  2. Edgecap notcher.....

We got ours from RJ Sign supply in St Louis. I think they are about $130 I would love to save some bucks but don't have time to hunt around. Good Luck!
  3. Training is a great investment!

My wife and I just attended Mark's flexi 8 class in Chicago and it was great. Mark is a great instructor! I recommend his class and material wholeheartedly!
  4. What laminator???

Yes, it's a brand new daige 4. Here are some pics of how I'm loading my oracal. Is this not correct? I flipped the belt to make a figure eight to get the take up reel to spin the right direction for the reverse wound oracal.
  5. What laminator???

Just an update... I did purchase the 55" Daige. Mistake? I don't know yet. FYI - The quality of the machine is poor at best...although, I have been using it with no problems with a little learning curve. One really good thing - I can now use Oracal because it's reverse wound - if you have a...
  6. Air bubbles under vinyl

Larry Boy...hahahahahaha... until a newie actually tries it! Then it may not be too funny. Some bubbles go away, some don't. Do the job correctly (if you get some, redo it before the customer picks it up) and you don't have to worry about them-protect your reputation...
  7. Work Bench Top

WOW! I can't believe everybody doesn't use self healing mats. Ya they may be a little salty but it's the only thing on all our work tables...including a home-made light table - difusses the light perfectly to not strain the eyes. I have two 4'X8' tables end to end, 40"x8' light table and a...
  8. Print, Laminate Reload, Cut

Come on, admit it....you're just trying to get your post count up!!! LOL
  9. Print, Laminate Reload, Cut

I'd NEVER spray laminate anything that is being installed on a vehicle. Laminate price depends on brand and type - cast verses calendared. Check out any supplier for prices. Time scenario depends on you - remove from printer, install in laminator, press the foot switch, reinstall in cutter...
  10. Not detecting rear crop marks

Hehehe...found it! I bumped my send possition from 0" to 1" inbetween today and when I printed these on Friday. So it was looking for the rear marks 1" away. Why did that not change the front margin also? I don't know either... Don't do that! It costs you an hour of time!!! argh... Thanks...
  11. Print, Laminate Reload, Cut

Yes! Buy a laminator. Yes, it slows the job down (a little). Yes, it helps the overall life. YES! YOU GET TO CHARGE LOTS MORE! ;-)
  12. Not detecting rear crop marks

Any body run accross their sp300v not detecting the rear crop marks? I have a couple of prints approx 50" long and I can't get the cutter to find the rear crop marks. The weird thing is it finds the front then blows right past the rear without even trying and my print ends up on the floor...
  13. Short noice to make a sponsor logo

You are not dumb!!! Sometimes fonts are tough to match. You can try http://www.identifont.com/identify.html I've used another site where you upload your image but I can't remember where that is...now that's dumb! LOL
  14. first time vinyl wet application problem

I agree! Learn how to apply dry and you'll never WANT to apply wet again. ONLY in extreme cold, AND then use Rapid Tac 2. Good luck!
  15. Quick question about terminology.

Same here...we've found that very few people understand the term until we explain it as wallpapering the car, truck or trailer. Our trailer is wrapped and that is the best explanation there is.
  16. Prototype Squeegee Opinion Poll

I applaud the effort...this creativity is what makes the world go around! However, it kind of reminds me of the items my 12 year old keeps "inventing" to "get rich". Although, if you really believe in your product then keep doing what you are doing! It may take a few years and a few tries...
  17. What gets you to the shop and back?

Here's my baby, but it only comes out in nice weather...which means it hasn't been out in a long time!!!:Cool 2: 540 HP aluminum head 454 - real ls6 car, 4.11 gears.
  18. Script Fonts for us dummies

I agree that the best "bang" for the buck has been signfonts!!! Buy the package and you will laugh at the competition!!! Speedway Rocks!!
  19. What laminator???

Thanks for the info guys, I think we are going to try the Daige (I know you get what you pay for...) and see how it works for us. If I can use a weeder/sheeter successfully as a laminator I should be able to figure out the Daige. ;-) Stay posted cuz in the next couple of weeks I will give you...
  20. Versacamm is all jacked up

You didn't say what your problem was. I went through HE*** with my sp300v and service provider trying to "guess" at fixing mine and it wasn't even a year old yet. I had ink clogging in the magenta and mix of yellow and magenta. Then one morning I find my cyan had emptied itself all over the...
