Anyone want to chime in on this? I am going to get a new printer, I think I am between the Roland Versa Art and the HP Designjet L25500 latex printer.
Anyone have any interesting info on either?
ok so here's an update! My heater is kind of working...
It heats for a little while then it stops heating. The screen still says that it is on but it just stops heating after a while.
Thats one of my problems.
The other issue is, I was printing a test print and I got a pretty bad head strike...
ok so an update...
I changed the media back to the 3621 and it is printing ok. not great but ok.
I am however noticing that the heaters are not heating up like they usually do any thoughts on the heater situation and/or the printing?
So I just opened up a roll of Orajet 3164 Matte and I am trying to print on it with really bad results (see pictures) The yellow and black and blue and black are completely bleeding into each other but if I print solid black type it prints fine.
I printed a job yesterday on this machine on...
You will need to set it up so that your darkest tones will be that dark and then have it fade out from there.
Yes, if you add in more color it will trick the eye so to speak and make it look like a nice rich black.
Sometimes just adding a bit of Cyan (like a 60 or 80% kicker) can do this...
http://www.creativebanner.com All the way for this kind of thing!
I have used them in the past for tablecloths and they had good pricing and fast service and a good product.
I worked in the offset printing industry for many years and we had the same issues that you are talking about here. With that being said, everyone else here is correct and so are you. What I mean is that yes you are right when you say that black ink is not truly black.
Our fix for it in offset...
Looks like either heat setting problem or a profile problem to me.
What is your heater set at and what media are you printing on?
I have a fair amount of fighting with mine also, dont get discouraged.
My next printer is going to be a Summa. No liquid ink issues at all with them.
