  1. Stolen vehicle recovered!

Nope. He punched the steering column lock and somehow got a "dummy" key to turn the engine over. That's about the only damage we've found. Her ignition key still works in the lock though. What's really funny though is that all of her stuff was still behind the seats. (crew cab). Some clothes...
  2. Stolen vehicle recovered!

This guy was probably thinking, "I need transportation". The reason I say this is we found evidence he has kids in the truck. Also, they're were several unopened packs of smokes in the vehicle also. I don't think he intended to abandon it. My guess is he tried to pass a bad check or stolen...
  3. Stolen vehicle recovered!

Some of you may remember my post about my daughter's vehicle being stolen. About 12 weeks ago or so. Well, we've got it back. The Vancouver (WA.) PD impounded it. It was abandoned at a gas pump at a 7-11. We paid the impound fees and towing fees and now she's got it. Story has ended well.
  4. If you were starting over, what would you do/buy?

Until I got to the end of the first sentence where you state you have a limited budget, I thought this was going to be fun. lol. If I could start over, I think I'd put more attention into obtaining high-end computer hardware and software. That, I've found, is where the real time is lost (and...
  5. He's Home... Finally :-)

I'm glad. Hope he finds rest and comfort at home. God knows you can't get any rest in the hospital.
  6. Mimaki or Roland

I think the vote will go to Roland because of superior tech assistance and the machine itself is a richly engineered workhorse.
  7. sign man busted

Guy's a loser. Can't make it the legit way, I guess. Got what was coming to him. Or will.
  8. getting samples like pulling teeth?

I think your post might be more accurately titled, "getting free samples like pulling teeth". Not much free in this ol' world. I think for the nominal sum of $25.00 each you can order short rolls of nearly all medias. If you're not willing to throw 25 bucks at something to show your...
  9. Collecting money....

Agree with you Marlene. We have some large accounts as well. But some have taken to paying on the "P-card". (as they call it) When they come in they use a card from their company. This has been the thing for the last two years. They use to take up to 60 days to pay off a Purchase Order, but...
  10. Font ID please

Bingo! Thanks DWT! Just needed the Simplicity font. Curlz it is.
  11. Font ID please

    Can't identify it.
  12. Are women better at designing?

Women in general seem to have a more "thorough" approach to things. As far as "better" designers, that would have to be explored a bit more. How do you put criteria on better designer?
  13. Who can seperate a .jpeg/.tiff image for me?

If you have a working copy of Omega Composer, I think you might get acceptable results by importing the .jpg, and using the "posterize image" setting. You can adjust as to how many colors you like the finished vector to be. It may work for you.
  14. Font Id please

Yep, that's it all right. (tried the text in the box) My client (a mortgage banker) is supposedly waiting on Corporate to send me the vector file, but he's antsy because he doesn't have a sign. (and he's open for business) And they're dragging their feet for some reason. I'll tell him it's...
  15. Font Id please

Hmmm. I have Engravers Roman, but it's not good. Do you know if they're is a very similar font?
  16. Font Id please

Loaded that family of fonts and they are actually a bit different. Serifs end differently and the R is different. Another shot anyone?
  17. Font Id please

Gosh, you people are good. Thanks a ton.
  18. Font Id please

The "R" is somewhat distinctive. But what is it?
  19. Learning Wall Doggin'... video

Thanks Arlo. Great post. Takes me back. Never did the pictorials but tons of "high work". (lettering only) Love the feeling you get working way up there. Finally sitting down on the swing stage to eat your box lunch at noon. Watching the hustle and bustle of Portland, Oregon below me. Thanks...
  20. edges of wrap lifting

Primer only the "problem" areas before hand. Deep wells inside door handles, around tight bends in sheetmetal, etc. Most likely cause of failure if it wasn't in a "problem" area was faulty cleaning in that area prior to application. Doubt if you can stick it back down. Cut away bad areas...
