  1. van lettering should i go with the molding line or use a level?

Depends...there are a lot of variables, including the design, but the "eye doesn't lie", well, it does, but if it looks level it is. Sometime there will be a molding or body line that forces you to adjust to it because it makes a "level" layout look off level. We will often have a conference and...
  2. Gerber Edge Burning film onto vinyl

I agree with Fred, at least that's what I would hope it was. Try different foils and brands if you have them.
  3. Some handlettered work

Do you shade on the left because you are a lefty? I think I recall my sign painting teacher mentioning it was harder for lefties to work over wet lettering.
  4. supplier for routed pvc letters

Does it have to be PVC? Maybe try acrylic from Gemini
  5. Good Wall film

For smooth walls I like Phototex
  6. Vinyl graphics on matte paint?

Yes, like letterman said, as long as it's a "real" paint job you should be fine. There are matte laminates available that can probably get you close, but sometimes it's cool to have a contrast, high gloss lettering on satin/matte finish.
  7. Making a bedazzled prop?

There are glitter vinyls. But I'd just go to the local craft supply, Michaels or Hobby Lobby and see what would work.
  8. Would you accept this job? Is it even possible??

What do they want on it? Would a paint job and lettering (or panels) accomplish the same thing?
  9. Making a standing banner for our shop, thoughts?

Better...but I think it should be Custom Commercial Signs... and if you use initial caps they should be on all the words in the line.
  10. Wood desk name plate holder

Thank you! For a prize you can take next Wednesday off! I have found a few places using the "desk wedge" search term, really helps when you know the lingo.
  11. Wood desk name plate holder

Yes, I wish they would replace them all, but not happening. They are a large, repeat client so I will search a little more. It is definitely a hardwood triangle that was intended to be used with an engraved nameplate. The "desk wedge" identity was helpful, I was calling it a triangle while...
  12. Wood desk name plate holder

I thought of trying that, but without a piece of 2.5" walnut or a solid hardwood I could make look like walnut I'd be spending a lot of time and money on something that sells for $10-30. I have found similar ones, but the have beveled edges, so if I have too I will see if I can get them to...
  13. Wood desk name plate holder

I have a client that has a bunch of these name plate holders. They measure 2.5"x10.5", designed to holed a 2x10 nameplate and look like they may be walnut. I have asked my engraving supplier and searched online but can't find an exact match. It has to be just about exact because they are on...
  14. WILL VHB tape stick and hold to Brick???

If it's clean, yes. But I would add dabs of lexel or similar
  15. edges of material lifting on painted drywall

Can you cut it back and then add a stripe of clear or white vinyl to seal the edge down?
  16. Vinyl Lettering Not Sticking to Spray Painted Bus Van

Yep, what Gino said. Don't waste your time. Any of the ways to solve the problem won't interest them because they cost $. So offer an alternative, an aluminum sign screwed to the side.
