  1. Mutoh value jet 1304 printing issues

That is most likely a dirty/damaged encoder strip or media buckling during the print. Clean the encoder strip with alcohol and turn the heat settings down if the print is buckling during the print. If the encoder strip is cloudy and not a nice shinny, slightly tinted, clear color, you probably...
  2. Need Help Mimaki CJV-130 beeps 3 times and goes into local

Does it do this during a print or while it's sitting there waiting for a job? I'm thinking there is a warning message being displayed but it flashes too quickly so you haven't seen it. If you can catch it in the act, see if the screen has an error message that pops up for a second while it beeps.
  3. JV33 not pulling yellow ink

The solenoid is behind the ink cartridges. You have to take the cover off to see them. There will be one for each cartridge and you just push it to open the valve.
  4. Need Help JV3-130 not recognized by desktop

The parallel port is located near the Firewire port. These days most computers don't have a parallel port so you will have to get a USB to Parallel cable. From people who have done it before I have heard the Belkin brand cables work great. It doesn't talk back to the computer so it won't show up...
  5. Need Help JV3-130 not recognized by desktop

It could be the Firewire card or cable. Usually on the JV3 the machine will error out if there is a communication issue. Have you tried the parallel port?
  6. Roland Sc500 new printheads not printing

The head is fried there is no question about it. The burn mark is from it blowing up. If you are lucky it's just a surface mount component that blew but judging by the picture I think it blew the actual circuit pathway which is not going to be fixed easily if at all.
  7. Ice cream maker needs printing help

As Gino said, you need to look at the actual cost of making these labels on one of these printers. It's not just ink and vinyl. It's the cost of the machine, maintenance and repairs. Even if you save 50% on the stickers how long will it take to recoup your investment of $$$$? If you spend $8000...
  8. Soljet Pro 4 640 woes...

Your light cyan is missing a good chunk of nozzles which doesn't usually show up in prints as much as the other colors but could be part of the issue. Generally ink drop out is caused by failing dampers, bad maintenance station and/or air getting into the system from a damaged line or bad seal...
  9. employee freelancing...........

I'm no lawyer but basically once she leaves your door at night, she can do whatever she wants. Unless she is stealing designs from you or selling prints/designs she made while on the clock with you, there isn't much you can do. So if you sell a certain design on a mug and you see her selling the...
  10. employee freelancing...........

What exactly is she freelancing? Is she making signs on the side or just designing for other clients in her own spare time? If she is selling a service or product on the side that you offer, then she is in breach of contract and you should fire her. If she is freelance graphic designing on the...
  11. Need Help Mimaki JV3 cleaning options

This could be better solution but I would also add to crimp your waste tubes when doing this. If you have a pump that is weak or a hole in the line anywhere, it can start to leak and create a siphon effect which will empty out all of the ink in that channel. It gets worse if you have a full...
  12. Need Help Mimaki JV3 cleaning options

You will waste about 14mL per color every time you do this. That's 25% of a cartridge worth of ink. So depending on if you are using 3rd party inks or OEM you could be wasting about $20 - $31 worth of ink every time you do it. Not to mention the cleaning cartridges cost about $44 each and you...
  13. Mimaki JV3-130 SP2. HELP!

This is the link to the proper driver. Even though it doesn't specifically mention Windows 10, it should work. If you have trouble using it in Windows 10 try running the setup file in compatibility mode and run it as administrator.
  14. 300V cap problems

It's usually natural for one side to make contact slightly sooner than the other but the picture you provided does look out of wack. You are going to have to take some of the panels off and see whats going on below the cap tops. Something is probably just out of place under there.
  15. JV33 No print at all/No test print

The wrong firmware wouldn't stop the head from firing. It would just pop up with an error and won't let you print. In my 10 years of fixing these printers I would say 90% of the time when the printer works perfect except it doesn't fire a single nozzle and you know ink is flowing it's a blown...
  16. Question Old Mutoh Falcon memory SIMM EDO specs

I'm not sure about all of the specs but It can take 128mb and 256mb SODIMM sticks so I would think a 32Gb stick might just not be compatible.
  17. Rant Have we been lied to about how sensitive a solvent print head is? (e.g. DX5)

DX5 head nozzle paths are created using a photolithographic method which is the same process they use to make micro processors. The nozzles themselves have to be a very specific diameter and shape in order to allow the ink to fire at the right consistency and velocity. If that very specific...
  18. another illy question

It only sounds complicated when you write it out. In reality it's like 3 clicks. You Corel users think you're sooooo special. ;)
  19. another illy question

I would use the pathfinder tools to do this. Enlarge your vector background to the size you want it and then copy and paste in front 4 times. This will work best if the background image is grouped together so you can select it with one click. Then lay 4 rectangles at the size you want over the...
  20. Need Help ROLAND XF-640 SERVICE CALL 0250 ERROR

This is an issue that can happen on all Epson based printers. I'm going to explain why it happens because I have seen this issue happen so many times on Signs101 that I think it will help people. The signal that the head uses to fire the nozzles is created by the processor on the main board...
