Are you using the recommended crop mark size? When you create the crop marks it will have a suggested size. The longer the print the bigger you want the crop marks. If they are too small the eye can miss them.
During the limit position initialization they have you look at the cap tops to see if they line up with the heads. If they don't then you have to loosen the screws holding the capping unit down and manual move them into a better position. It's not a menu item. You have to physically move it into...
They just emptied the machine of ink, disconnected the tubes on both sides of the sub tank and then attached them together. Then they just stuck the flag in the sensor to tell the machine that the sub tanks are full all the time. No parameters changed.
I have had 1 customer bypass without issues. Just know that every time something isn't working right you will always question whether it's the missing subtank or not!
I have used EPS as my output file type for 10 years and have never had any issues with file translation. PDF is a good proof file format but it messes up when going from RIP to RIP about 10 - 20% of the time. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people use expensive vector design software and...
My Dad was born in New York and I was born in New Hampshire but my Mom, 3 sisters and brother were all born in Birmingham Alabama. I grew up with cold winters and good ol' southern cooking. Cookouts with the extended family can get . . . interesting.
We are half open. I am the only one in the office and I have some printers coming in for repair so I am not able to get to the phone. I'll call you in a bit!
Unfortunately it's an integral part of the system. The machine measures the material by looking at where the pinch rollers are. I would take a very good look at the pinch roller lever mechanism. Something has to be preventing it from engaging all the way. That is the only way those pinch rollers...
The mechanical drawing doesn't show it as a separate item but it looks like it comes with the CL cam assembly which is $11. I would have to ask Mimaki to confirm. You probably could rig something as well but I don't know where to start with that.
Edit: PS. You can only see the blue piece when...
Surprisingly they aren't held in by anything other than friction. I have seen them fall out on new machines even. They probably fell off some time in transit.
I attached a picture of the blue rubber I am talking about. If it is missing that is the problem for sure. Also see the pictures of a good lock mechanism and a bad one. Basically, the index head should never move the roller. It's not a function that it's meant to do. Moving them after the fact...
unmateria is spot on. Just a quick add. If your multi-meter has a continuity function it can be a lot better to test the fuse with. If there is continuity it will beep if not it won't beep. Makes it real simple.
The ink cartridges have self healing septum so they won't go bad even after being punctured. That being said I did have a customer recently do the same thing and the cartridge leaked. That's the first time in 10 years I have ever seen it happen though.
I think you probably have a cap top issue...
You are getting over spray which is usually caused by deflecting nozzles or a head that is just on it's way out. The first obvious solution is to clean all of the maintenance parts very well and then run a cleaning cycle. Check the nozzles to see if they are deflecting. If they aren't then it...
The pinch rollers should not move during the initialization. I have only seen pinch rollers move like that two times. In one case there is a bright blue rubber piece that sits between the pinch roller mechanism and the Y bar. This rubber piece provided friction so that the pinch roller doesn't...
My first impression from the images is your yellow is not firing. I'm thinking you may have some nozzle drop out and/or cross-contamination. How does the nozzle check look?
